3.5.8 I'll upgrade to 3.6 but I doubt that will help.

When I resize the browser window it gets locked-up completely. It only happens when I am in a Stardock forum using Firefox. The fix is ctl-alt-del to bring up the "Windows Security" dialog and then cancel that dialog. Anyone else run into this?
Thanks Mumbles! Do admins *move* threads around here? I don't want to be accused of double posting.

This is a technical complaint. When I resize the browser window it gets locked-up completely. It only happens when I am in a Stardock forum using Firefox. The fix is ctl-alt-del to bring up the "Windows Security" dialog and then cancel that dialog. Anyone else run into this?
What's confusing to me is that there are some political threads allowed. If all political threads were banned (no matter how civil the discussion), the ambiguity would certainly go away.
Well, I started my first game over the weekend and I'm having a lot of fun learning the ropes. I used Twilight's advice with only the pirates while I get familiar with the processes. Its been a long time since I played an RTS game and with a lot of GalCiv2 experience, I keep looking for a pause or next turn. Hopefully, I'll get over that. @ComradeYakov: What does LRF stand for? @Agent: thanks for the tips!

Jon Stewart leans far left, but he is smart about it. Once in a while he calls out one of his own, which is more than you can say about the truly far left.

Btw, Mumbles makes more of an attempt to be balanced than any of the other left-wing nuts (my experience in the global warming threads).
Of the strategies you listed, which one is best to overcome the learning curve? Single star map or huge multi star? -- Edit: I didn't see your last post but that answers my question. I didn't know you could play that way. Awesome.
Great advice! I can't wait to try it.
[quote who="Ynglaur" reply="6" id="2567636"]You could argue that monopolies only increase their own profits in the short-term. Once a monopoly is established, it has no incentive to improve itself, either by increasing revenue or by decreasing expenses. Thus, it loses the opportunity cost/benefit of efficiency gains over time. It becomes a cash cow, but never really grows. The source of real wealth in capitalism is all based around growth, and not a stagnant company th
Thanks Twilight! I'll try to be more specific. Playing as TEC, what are the initial steps you take in the early game?
I wonder if Numers realizes yet that he stuck his head into a wood chipper.
Morthion, first of all thank you for posting this guide. I just bought SoSE: Trinity and I'm wondering how much of this guide will be useful to me? I have no experience with the original version.
I just bought SoSE Trinity last night at Walmat. I am a complete noob at this. I started to read the Beginner's Guide by Morthion but stopped when he stated the expansions are not included in his guide. Will his guide still be useful for me? Here are my basic assumptions: 1. Single player 2. Trinity version I'm looking at the manual and I don't see where I select the core game or one of the expansions. Therefore does that mean all of the expansion functionality

What is worse is when the main portion of a person's argument is merely ridiculing their opponent or the stereotypical caricature of their opponent's position. I don't really have such strong feelings about environmentalism, but it is sad to see science being treated as if it were politics - where concensus matters in voting. It would be an

Doesn't this fly in the face of conventional business logic? You should want to establish a legal monopoly with low barriers to entry and high barriers to exit. Stardock turns this on its head and provides a distribution channel for its competitors? This is so contrary to the prevailing wisdom that consumers are dazed and confused.

Unlike all of the others there isn't a whiff of association with any of the "tobbaco lobbyists" like the Heartland Institute, CEI, AFP, et. al. Also Dyson does in fact accept the two basic tenents of AGW. The article you reference doesn't happen to mention this but the global warming section of his wiki article quotes him as writing "One of the main causes of warming is the increase o
