Even though it's not the point you were actually talking about, as far as the actual story of Star Trek goes, the Borg took a Queen, because it was the only way to restore order after the Federation messed up the status quo. Untill the crew of the enterprise interfered through that one captured and later returned drone, the collective worked just fine as a real collective with literally every member being equal.

While we are at the Centauri, maybe you could somehow make a planet bonus out of the Cora Preedo (or however the proud knifes - Londo's and Urza's dueling society - are spelled). Maybe a little less tax in exchange for trade and culture. Trade because they'll need supplys for their parties and swords, culture because of the high value the Centauri put into their traditions and the reduced tax, because those highly respected nobles surely know a lot of tricks for not having
I'm not so sure culture spread gain is fitting for the Drazi conflicts (other races tend to be quite annoyed by it, or as Ivannova put it "While some others might not mind if you killed each other, even they would prefer you do so quietly"), but maybe it could increase the weapon damage and hit chance for friendlies. After all the purpose of the green vs purple fight is to make sure that the best fighters and strategists of the Drazi are in controll.
About the Alien Parasites: First off, the Vindrizi are not parasites, they are symbionts. They give the host knowledge and health in exchange for "hitching a ride" and they only take volunteers as hosts. Neither are they harmfull to the host if the host is healthy. The one who died in the series died (together with the Vindrizi who tried to get into his body) because of all the chemicals that the host (a drug addict) had coursing through his blood. They are also very few
"Dilgar War Memorial" giving culture spread rate and maybe also trade income (from the tourism). It might also give a population growth debuff, because the planet still suffers from one of the biological weapons employed by the Dilgar. "Mutai Arena": Pretty much the same, just without the debuff. For those who don't remember, Mutai is the fighting sport from the first season (Episode T'ko), in which Garibaldi's friend Walker Smith was the fir
The powerfull races, older races canonically have a smaller population base (especially the First Ones, but also the Minbari), so giving them less max pupulation would be supported by the backstroy. You could create a new planet type, Homeworld (or even a seperate planet type for each race) and then give each race a research to unlock the bonuses suggested by Darvroth. That way it would be easy to customice and balance the bonuses for each race seperately, or even unlock them bit by b
There's already the standard 'Relativistic Factory' and a new 'Forge of the First Ones' artifacts. The former gives the owner construction rate boost, the latter a discount on construction costs and an increase of metal extraction rate (very handy in SotYR). So in terms of artifacts most of that seems to be already covered. It would make a nice planet bonus, so you'd almost end up with an 'Industrial pla
How about "Quantium 40 deposits"? It could give trading income and/or speed up ship production (jumpdrives require Q40 and if you have it right on the planet, instead of having to import it, the jumpdrives are going to be finished faster).
If you wanted a negative artifact, you could fall back to one of the Crusade episodes. There a rogue technomage created a nanorobot based plague that turned the population of a planet into raving maniacs who killed each other, every night (during the day the sun somehow interfered with the signals controlling the nanites and thus prevented them from working). In Crusade this resulted in everyone on the planet being wiped out, but if the nanites are working less efficient, it c
Okay... disregard my previous post.... At that moment I thought you meant that because of thanksgiving the download servers were overwhelmed.... Not with a good night's sleep I see that you meant the approval of the mirror might be delayed due to the festival.
It's thanksgiving weekend so I wouldn't count my turkeys or anything...
I had the same problem since the link came up on wednesday.
Erm... why not simply give the superweapon a research requirement that can never be met, like a research subject of another faction, or just delete the superweapon research out of the player .entity? How could either effect the AI, except for them not wasting ressources on the research of something they can't build? Is there any news on the alternate download that's still pending approval? Because I can't download from the current link for so
I had some issues when I used 0.10 with the patch, but the 0.11 (full download) works just fine for me.
I tried downloading the .11 Rebellion alpha and with that the crash is no longer happening, so I suppose it was a corrupted file on my end after all. Sorry to waste your time.
The Rebellion 0.10 Alpha with the patch. For the last Diplomacy version, the model works... in Diplomacy itself anyway. When I try to just copy the mesh and/or texture files over into the rebellion mod directory, they crash the game either on startup, or when loading a map.
I discovered something that might be a bug. Whenever I zoom in close enough to an Advent gunship, that it's model would show up on screen, my game crashes. I also tried to replace the mesh-line in the entity with the one of the regular Advent fighter, but the crash still happens. Does anyone else have the same problem, or might it only be a download corruption?
I thought the burst and fire delays are just used for the graphic effects of the shtos, with the value in the entity files already being DPS values. Or are you talking about the "PreBuffCooldownTime" here?
If you activated the Flagship mod properly, you should start out with a single shuttle in your start system. Once you completed the associated research (if my memory serves me right, it's on level 5 military) and you got enough ressources and free slots, you can use the shuttle to call in the Flagship. Is it possible that you got the activation order wrong? The Read me (in the Extra folder) is quite detailed about which folder should be where in the list.
Since I don't think, replaceing all those red light would with teamcolor would look good on the Vasari (unlike the Advent) and the Kultorask lacked any obvious armor plates like it's loyalist cousin, I had to come up with something else. And after weeks of thinking and looking I finally came up with something that might work. As before, pictures and a link to the updated file are in the first post.
For files the game has an either/or approach. If it doesn't find a file in the mod directory, it takes the original game file. If a file is found in the mod directory, it looks as it and only it, just as if the original file didn't exist. That is even true for a completely empty dummy file, as long as teh filenames match up (and end up mini-dumping the game). So even if you want only a single digit changed, you still need to copy the whole file and change the digit in it.
You mean cutting the ornaments out of the da and implementing them in the cl alpha layer? Unfortunately I didn't think of that. It would have saved me some time with the Eradica. But the hardest and most time intensive part of the Eradica was removing those orange stripes that bled out of the actual lighted area into the surrounding bluish grey textures. I included your mesh file in the download and also put the files into the fitting folders, so inexperienced peop
I hope your using the light map from the da texture and not doing all that by hand... Also, I have a fixed mesh for the Eradica that still isn't fixed in game if you want it.
The only change to any da map I did, was for the Transcencia, since the frontal symbols were too dark to properly see the teamcolored areas most of the time. The rest was adding the areas to the alpha channel of the cl maps (mos
Since the old file seems to have gotten corrupted during uploading and I didn't back up the original file on my computer (thinking it was savely tucked away on my webspace...) I had to redo much of the Eradica again, but now I am finished with it... again. Screenshots and Link in the first post.
You should also include Tim Choate (Zathras) on such a screen.
