Sorry about that, but I thought this thread was over. Anyway, as you wish. @Craig - Nice talk. Have some karma :) @scorpion - May God punish you for disturbing two kind gentlemen having a quiet chat ;)

I have AVG 9.0 free too, so I don't think that is your problem. Why don't you try Impulse Anywhereto download the game? It will also give you a permanent backup across ALL PCs. Just Google it.
In Frogboy's own words, SD makes games for profits and not to be declared cool. Even SD, with their softer stance on DRM, won't adopt this idea. It is a business and it doesn't make sense to remove the carrots and sticks that may drive people to buy a copy of the game. I mean - getting regular, frequent and meaningful updates if you own a legitimate copy of the game is one of the best incetives out there and taking it away does not make sense. Requiring a legitimate CD-key to play the multipl
Well, I used to be a good badminton, tennis and table tennis player and used to sometimes play cricket at night, so maybe it is a side effect. On the other hand, I could have a vision problem - I have been meaning to get my eyes tested for some time now. A problem could be that my LCD monitor is a bit on the older side and so has a lot of ghosting problem. What I don't like about the whole LCD thing is that the display system related software is still designed for the CRT - when are w

@Craig - Good point about Vsync. I enable Vsync only when I have to. Some games seem to be more susceptible to it. Crysis isn't affected but playing Oblivion or HL2 without it leads to a lot of tearing. But I will keep this in mind during the summer, when the room temperature is usually around 40-45C! BTW, I can notice the difference between 40 and 60 FPS and even 100 FPS, but anything above 50 is very pleasing to eyes. 40 might be a bit on the lower side for me though - I can "see flickering
About farms - without a farm, you can have up to 8B pop on a planet. I strongly suggest that you build one more farm and upgrade it to 'intensive farming'. That will give you a max of 14B pop, which is good for tax and influence and also not too difficult to manage. Later on, you can go up to 20B pop if you feel like it. I think the research and economic treaties are not a problem, because they are visible all the time. Is it 'Alliance' that you can't see? It will only be available if you hav
How much video memory do you have? I have 512MB. It is an important point that you mention - the distinction between memory and performance. I got suckered into buying the 7300GT 512MB because I didn't know that it won't be able to use the 512MB. It was my first ever graphics card purchase. I am also very happy with my card. Plus, it is quite silent and cool, although we will see what happens when the temperatures reach 40-45C. The i5 also runs relatively cool, so I am getting away with a loc
There is a special case that calls for special managemant of morale - the super-breeder. Since the super ability is useless without 100% morale, there can be times when the morale resource is more valuable than the econ resource. I like to do this - Tax all the money I can out of them (I don't go higher than 79%) or coddle them to get a pop boom. Personally, I like this advice regarding farms: -On Civ capitals, no farms. -For the rest, only 1 imtensive farm. A total of 14B pop max. For a
Honestly, it is the difference between asking your parents for money for gaming (scandal!) and spending your own money. I have still been relatively constrained - I should probably have gone for something like GTX 275 or HD4890. Oh well, the 1440x900 resolution doesn't really need that, but high AA (8x or 16x) still leads to 30 fps in games like Crysis. Some will be happy with that, but it is not good enough for FPS games.
Maybe the tech difference lead to such a spectacular victory? I would also like to know about this invasion bonus.

I picked up Demigod for $7.5 - a nice deal :) Nothing else enticed me, unfortunately. Hopefully, there will be at least one more sale that I like. I would have liked to get Dragon Age:Origins for $37.5, but it was NA only.
You've forgotten about one of the biggest bonuses of being Neutral - the +10% Approval bonus. It is really, really nice :)
Banned for torching.
Well, I have the same one too - GTS 250! And it is so much better, it is like another plane of gaming. At 1440x900, it is able to handle all the games that I have thrown at it by now. My god, how did I manage for two years with the 7300?

So true, although I misstated my situation - I have a lot of free time, just not for playing GC2. I got a new i5 gaming PC and am trying out some games which I couldn't try on my 7300GT, like Crysis, World in Conflict, HL series etc :)
The quote button is not working. Again!
There will be more promos but they won't be necessarily daily.
I hope Sins of a Solar Empire is one of them :)
Banned because I want a Sins sale. Non-random unplug(?): C'mon SD, at least give us a sale on one of your own products, just like you did with Demigod.
Banned for no Impulse sales.
I see nothing anymore, and Google returns no new results. I hope that doesn't mean an end to Impulse sales, because Steam still has them, as does D2D.
