hmm well I had no idea these tactics had been around for so long. I'm no demigod guru though anyway. Most of the people I talk to about increasing minion speed seem to be unaware of it though.
drugfreeboy
the bishops and archer ones will manage to attack while chasing just about all the time. The meelee ones seem to attack sometimes too though.
Yeah, I didn't really keep up with that "minion swarm" thread too much. I saw that link you posted to your thread on the gpg forums and how you mentioned speed item affect your minions. That was only today though for me. Regabond had be tellin me how he thought he "might of heard" that speed items affect minions. Seriously though, most people don't know. I played a pros game and they were like "why are you using so many boots? They don't help minions". I haven't ever really had
Well I suppose that I knew that was the reason that people think they don't start with splash. I just figured that people woulda noticed that towers of light kill multiple minotaurs and minions at the same time even at the very begining of the game before anyone buys tower damage upgrades.
rofl lifekatana...you never won that argument. Even if it was in the patch notes, people seem to be unaware. Heck, even you were like "journeymans treads make you expose yourself" when actually they make me expose myself less because I outrun enemies and my minions do also.
Me and a couple friends heard some rumors that minion speed can be upgraded by boots of speed and stuff. We did some testing, and its true. Is this some super crazy secret or something? People don't seem to be aware of this because the boots of speed and stuff don't mention your minions moving faster. They do move faster though. Wand of speed and boots of speed will produce a noticeable increase in minion movement speed. Throw journeyman's tread in and your minions will outrun most DGs.
I'll keep watching this for sure...
SPEED ITEMS MAKE YOUR MINIONS FASTER!!!!! Treads are a VERY GOOD item for minion builds. Boots of speed +10%, wand of speed + 25%, journeyman treads +15% or +65% with the proc. 15 minions hitting for 80 damage with +100% movement speed will run you down and kill you. I don't have to expose myself. In fact the journeyman treads make it even easier for me to bait an enemy after me while staying just out of there reach. All the while my minion swarm is beating on them
Perhaps we should wait and see what happens for a little longer before we demand nerfs. There are some decent counters to minion builds in your list there. I'm not certain that they are good enough to really justify the awesomeness of minions, but we shall see I guess. Oh, but about #4: Why does nobody seem to realize that towers start off with splash? The lvl 1 tower damage upgrade adds 10% more splash. It doesn't mean that they didnt have splash in the first place.</p
Meh, you don't need to be so cynical, To. I don't join "noobs only" games, but I find that "pros" games tend to be pretty competitive and just about as respectful to the guy who dies a lot as any other game I find...lol...take that how you will
yeah lifekatana 1 AoE isn't gonna kill anything. In fact, it may just spawn up more minions. Lvl 4 store minions each have about 2k hp. The vampire's personal minions get to be around 1.5k usually. I also usually buy the hauberk of life. Oak's personal minions are a little more squishy, so I tend to prefer the erebus ones. The oak ones have their advantages though. Or I could just go back to using horn of battle, then you're AoE's are gonna struggle to even kill my first set of minion
Once upon a time, people thought minions were underpowered. Then shadow discovered horn of battle. Then someone (maybe shadow) realized that speed buffs make minions move faster too. Now I only play erebus and oak and run people down with minions that have the boots of speed + journeymans tread + wand of speed effects on them. It seems fair to say these minion guys need a nerf soon... *edit* I figured that I would mention that with high morale and skill point buffs, erebus's m
[quote who="DeadMG" reply="19" id="2320949"]Drugfreeboy: He doesn't have a point at all. Noob vs Pro is completely subjective, and with custom games as ranked, there's no way to judge your current skill instead of your skill where you played the most games, especially considering how shitty it is because you can just make whatever settings you like and still get your win ranked. On the other hand, when you're a team of premades, then it's a fact that everyone on the team knows each
looks like a nice brief intro. It should help some people.
i love prison =(...besides the fact that its so easy for the minion guys to play.
What buffs? I havent noticed minotaurs going flying everytime a new night crawler spawns up.
I've been told this thing is somehow broken. I've been playin with it and haven't noticed anything obviously strange happening. I've tried searching for the answer to this but didn't see anything. Is there anything broken about it? I've been using it instead of horn of battle since most of us agree that horn of battle is gay.
I dont think reg could control a good minion erebus with just snipe. I mean the ereb could get hurt by someone else then sniped, but thats different.
its the setons clutch of demigod (supcom players will get that). Its a good map though.
Oh cmon wickedrusher. The guy has a point. Less skilled players love to complain at "premades" and "stompers" but we find a good deal of em joining games labeled "good players or pro players".
Wait when did everyone suddenly decide QoT needs a buff? My friend is awesome with her. You just follow him around untill he ground spikes someone then you beat the poor person who lost all the armor to death in seconds. When they try to run, he slows them with that other ground spike skill. He also finds time to throw some shields on you while you're at it.
In any category? Oh wait, besides GRAPHICS. I never played DOTA but I think I heard someone say that each hero on DOTA only really has one build. In demigod each character has atleast 2 or 3 good ones that play differently. That kinda skews the 8 to 80 character score you are keeping there. Plus modding should be possible soon so we should see that number increase for demigod. I use flanking all the time in team games. I get flanked pretty often too.
yea
They are useful if you're being a loner a bunch during the game. Because it allows you to easily spot mines and incoming ambushes. *edit* omg rega there's a 4 minute window between those 3 posts. The forums musta been exceptionally bad lol.
quote doesn't work in chrome. Its a nuisance because I love chrome. I just open up firefox when i absolutely want to quote because I can never remember the exact syntax of the quote markup. I wonder if the devs would be shy to do this. They wouldn't want an issue on their hands where someone who just bought the game can't play multiplayer b/c 90% of the games are filtered. It COULD happen. Kinda unlikely though, and he could always just host one.
