Umm... Seriosly guys you CAN get miliseconds from os.clock(). And take that Misfortune! Random WAS written in lua, ha! :D
P.S. Oh and BTW, the first value of math.random after randomizing is not always the same
In lua it is, sorry. You can google it. Many people ask why it has to be like that, but it's not hard just to random 1 number so people don't complain too much.

Go play CS. Strategy games are not for you.
Where can you find this?
Hehe, if this is what you do, might as well do (os.clock()//8) + 1. There's no point in using random() calls if you reseed EVERY TIME. Reseeding all random clients at start of match with os.clock() (which has a 1 sec resolution in lua), it just plain dumb, and WILL lead to everyone getting the same demigod, assuming their clocks are somewhat synched. I suggest whoever gets the task of fixing this takes a good look at<
Sorry but you have no idea what you're talking about. First of all, Demigod is NOT WRITTEN in Lua. It USES Lua for some of the game functionality (mostly scripting events, ai and similar). The scriping of the game in Lua still mostly relies on libraries provided by the core game which are not written in Lua. Second, Randomizing with the same seed produces same sequence of random numbers, not the same random numbe
For me today it's the 26th and the stats have changed a lot. The Win Percentage is definitely screwed and the right numbers for the today are: 1. Unclean Beast: 57% 2. Lord Erebrus: 58% 3. Regulust: 49% 4. Sedna: 55% 5. Oak: 50% 6. Rook: 49% 7: Torch Bearer: 47% 8: Queen of Thorns: 52% I also calculated the win % chance that is slightly different, but shows your chances of winni
But, I saw a guy post that he and his friends started a 4v4 game with everyone random and all got regulus. Maybe it sometimes crashes and sometimes doesn't? Here's the link: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/357389 And he was saying:
Other than that, my housemates and i played a game lsat night, whilst most things seem better, the Ai was frustrating, and the game we played all as random, we all got regu
Ok with stats but is there any logical explanation of Pantheon experience gaining ? I've 3 win and 1 lose 2 days ago with 983 exp. Yesterday i've played another 2 games in Tournament against 2 human players and won em. So i've 5 wins and 1 lose but my exp fall down to 951. Look at the ladder top. The same win and lose (5:1) at Tourch Bearer with almoust the same gaind favor point and play time , and he is in top 10 with 1078 exp. At th
Okay... First of all everything I will say is ONLY based on what I read in the forums. And the things I am based on in this post are: 1. Demigod is written in Lua (programming language). 2. Random Demigod option always randoms the same Demigod for everyone (Regulus I guess). Please take your time to read everything. So I know what might have been the problem and I will describe it here: Here's how ran
Rook needs a buff. So if you nerf his towers you need to buff something else a lot.
Sorry guys, but you are both wrong. The answer is really simple actually. Their "Total Games Played" is just broken and isn't accumulating right. That's all there is to it. You may have the illusion that several demigods in one game can count as a 1 "Total Game", but QoT gives it all away (that the system is broken). Let's see QoT today: Wins: 528 Loses: 493 Total Games: 1116 528 + 493 = 1021 and it's less than Total Games played. For ot
See ya tommorow (for me it's in ~10 hours). I'll think more about how to calculate the stuff for it to be true.
Look at my above post. They are using wrong numbers (don't know where they come from) and all win %'s end up beeing higher than they are in reality. I'll post some real win %'s soon as well as check their legitness.
My math is right. It's either: 1. AI is not counted. 2. A lot of games are not equal (3v2, 1v4) Edit: And ideally all win %'s must be 50. Edit 2: OKAY! I have changed my calculation logic. My calculations were right, but I didn't fully understand what I REALLY had to calculate. This will be harder. I'll recount it and post my new results! Edit 3: Okay... My math was right. It's just tha
Seriosly, I thought stats tracking is the easiest job a programmer could have. Now everyone please go to Pantheon>Top Demigod Let's see now... 1. Unclean Beast with an incredible 66% win chance! Super imba or what? 2. Lord Erebus with a good 61% win chance. Mr. Imba! 3. Sedna with a good 61% win chance. Mrs. Imba? 4. Regulus with a mighty 60% win chance! Nerf? 5. Oak with a 56% win chance. I would say that's above

What about rage quits?
I heard it's online-only and you can play 4/8 demigods and 1/8 maps. Kind of stupid though. Toosing you into a multiplayer game when you first play is kind of stupid. You will get flamed and won't understand anything the first time you play. I suggest making single player skirmish available and tournament locked. Also only make Easy and Normal AI available with the Hard and Nightmare ones locked just to prepare the player for online play.
I just got angry that you (Frogboy) didn't post in a long time in simple topics like this one :( P.S. I'm waiting for the Demigod Demo. Hope it comes out soon. I just hope there won't be any bugs from this thread in it: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/356419
LoL will destroy Demigod.
Quoting InfiniteVengeance, reply 5.....what? I think he means that because the game has been out for a month(2 actually) all or most of the problems should have been fixed by now, making threads like this that point out bugs in the game unnecessary.
Exactly.
You know what I'm thinking? WHY THE FUCK THIS KIND OF THREADS EVEN EXIST WHEN A GAME IS ALREADY RELEASED FOR A MONTH? Seriosly gtfo.
They won't fix it. Either to laziness or dumbness it's not going to happen for at least a month. Unless bman fixes it...
Stop saying that it's almost impossible to make a good AI. Because it's not. There are many ways of making AI and many ways of making them better than humans. I think GPG didn't try hard enough. It doesn't really need countless hours. A good AI can be done within a month. And I will prove it! Though most of you won't see how I'll do it...
