Sure, let me know how your mod works, im curious. And yeah, I'm still playing vinella Sins and thought of getting the Expansion, but I wasn't sure what to expect from it. And yeah, US battleships during the Pacific War had fantastic anti-air capabilities, especially with their dual purpose 5" turrets armed with proximity fused shells that exploded whenever they came close to aircraft. For example, the USS South Dakota was responsible for 26 out of the 90ish total Japanese

Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know where I can download the new reference files? I just downloaded the Forge Tools off the front page of this site, which I assumed were up-to-date with the current version. Oh, and come to think of it, I was able to use those entity files I made by directly replacing them into the game folder and backing up the originals, but why wouldn't they work as a mod?

I downloaded ForgeTools 3, and opened up and edited the .entity files using wordpad in the "\ForgeTools 3\ReferenceData\GameInfo" path. I then saved them into a folder named "MyMod" with the GameInfo folder included in it, and then placed the folder in the following directory "C:\Documents and Settings\ Username \Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods-v1.19" . I saw MyMod </str

About a year ago I said I would make a mod that would completely change the role of Capital Ships in the game, and give them a more central focused role in combat. My general opinion of the matter about what role Capital Ships should have in the game, is that they should comprise of the primary source of strength in any fleet. They should be extremely durable, have incredibly long range, and should influence the outcome of any battle far more significantly than they currently are

I sent an E-mail to Support with all my relevant info, but I was looking for a little quicker feedback (been 2 days now), so I'll post my question here as well in hopes that someone knows that the problem is. Every time I try to enable a mod, my game freezes, forces me to ctrl-alt-del, and then gives me a minidump (which I've sent to the support team). I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem and had this solved already. This happens with any mod, including my ow

Even with all settings on fast, it really seems like the gameplay is a little sluggish, especially late into a game where you are building/researching high tech stuff. Would there happen to be a mod out there that increases the build speed, research speed, and possibly the combat speed (i.e. ships move and fire faster). I also would like to know if there was a mod to make building capital ships more feasible for gameplay, because as it stands it really seems like its just not wort

I am trying to do something similar to this in the screenshot. http://i462.photobucket.com/albums/qq343/MHather/Others/Image1.jpg I want my toolbars that I create on my desktop to show up transparent, but primarily be able to allow the icon names to use up as much space as they need to display fully in "View -> Small Icons". If you try to make a desktop toolbar with just windows XP, any icons that have long names won't be able to show their full name. B

Heh, I know it might sound like a poor excuse not to use it but I just think the toolbar for windows XP theme look bad, lol. I don't want anything at all blocking my beautiful wallpaper besides maybe objectdock (which can auto-hide or be made transparent anyway), and my desktop shortcut names. [e digicons]|-)[/e] Plus they also fail to display full filenames for me. But I noticed you made yours display fully even with long names, Fuzzy Logic. How did you do that?&nb

Is there maybe a program you could recommend that is better suited for my needs then? I do notice that very few people use these docks for frequently accessed folders, and instead use it for frequently used programs, but I do not have a large list of programs to really take full advantage of that. My only current though is that I start learning how to make my own interface with DesktopX.

It could be fixed quite a few ways, but that would depend on why the text behaves like that. Is it being cut off because the icon spacing is defaulted to group close together? Its obviously set to have a sort of "auto-arrange", and "align to grid" behavior like you can do on the desktop. If thats the case, then all the program would need to do in order to fix this is add a horizontal and vertical spacing feature between icons, just like Windows can do to its desktop icons by

http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/1719/objectdockplusek3.jpg My docks at the top middle of the picture. Notice how the full names underneath their icons aren't shown? I know the icons themselves can be graphically edited, but some of the shortcuts I need to gain access to would be very difficult to relate to an icon graphic because of how vague they are. I am not dealing with just ba

Topic. Due to the current limitations of Fences and ObjectDock not being able to display full path/file names, I have been struggling to figure out the most efficient way to display and be able to identify new shortcuts (with their full path/file names). Most people know what Objectdock is, but Fences, not as much. I am essentially trying to do the exact same thing as Fences, by creating my own transparent docks/viewports (which I have already designed using Photoshop),

The text on shortcuts made in ObjectDock rarely displays the full filename/path, and has even MORE limitations than the standard desktop icon view, which normally allows only two lines of text before being cut off, with the line lengths being relatively proportional to the icon size. This means if you want to decrease the icon size, you will either have to drastically decrease the text size (which under 8 is almost unreadable to me), or deal with very obscure file/path names because it

Not really a bug, but definately an issue and should be addressed. My post regarding this was completely ignored but I think its a great idea.. I suggested that the program either become compatible with other software which allow the user to display their icons on the desktop as a List or Tiles view (for the purpose of saving room and displaying the full path/file name), or just integrate that feature into the program itself (which should not be difficult). The problem with Icons is that they easily take up the most space out of any other view,

Yesterday I made my own design for a dock viewport with photoshop, and downloaded Wraith DX Double Docker . The docker is exactly the sort of thing I needed, without any of the gizmos/buttons (for now), and I removed everything except the docks title at the top, and the transparent docks main body, so I am lef

Heh, thats actually the exact one that I am already using! I downloaded it yesterday, and tried out a couple others as well in the past, but like this one the best. Im going to use it in conjunction with viewports and docks I create with DesktopX to emulate what Fence does, except hopefully make it use less space :)

Hey thanks a lot for the help guys, I'm gonna read up on the tutorial first chance I get to see if I can figure out how to make my own sort of "docks" which hopefully won't take up much room on the desktop. I like being able to see everything I want in plain sight but without it cluttering the hell out of my workspace :)

Thank you for the quick response, but I already mentioned that I tried out Fences ^^ Its comes very close to accomplishing what I want it to, but not quite, because of the fact that it cuts off the full name of any application or folder. Some of my paths/folder names are relatively long I need to see the full name of it in order to identify what it is. Maybe, and hopefully, they will make improvements to it as the beta goes on that allows me to do this.
