The issue with the graphics is the low polygons and quality. The type of graphics is a design choice, and that's fine. The quality of the graphics is flat out bad. Recipies... well, I know this is a big thing. Yes, they work. However, they are needlessly complicated. This is coming from a fan of the notoriously complicated X series, and I think recipies require too much unnecessary studying of the game. I honestly don't get DotA at all due to

With any luck, this will further encourage GPG to make DG different from the exact DotA formula. LoL (lol) can take the masses of people who want quantity. I'll stick with the quality production that is DG. As a random side note, this is 2008! Those graphics suck. I almost mistook it for another WC3 mod. Its DG quality against LoL quantity.
There will not be crafting in League of Legends, but players will be able to
No, he wouldn't. It was very annoying, because I was always missing units and having to click multiple times to actually get him to target something. If you clicked on ground that did not have a unit standing there, he would not swing. But yes. It did target the ground under the unit, not the unit itself. However, as you had to click on a unit to use the attack, it is technically unit-targetted the way I see it. Epic breakdown of communication, lol.<
Sounds like a good idea. Would be pretty crazy if all the flags were like that, but limiting it to a handful of important ones might be cool.
You can grab such an item too. Perhaps the ability cooldown item is a bad example, since EVERY character benefits enormously from it. Otherwise I can see a point, though I do not believe that in itself can torpedo the enjoyment of a game, tournament or not. If what you speak of happens (such that your benefit is not equal to that derived by your opponent), then I guess the random whims of fate have stolen a fair game from you, and you lose
Why was there so much controversy about this? It was definately unit-targetted in Beta 1. I tested it. Maybe it acted differently on different computers? All I know is that I could not target the ground for that attack. Although, I think ground targetting would be an improvement. Unlike what Innociv is saying about how they should be able to miss, I think this way because it would be easier to hit. You can't hit anything with the Hammer Sla
Also, I think ranged units should have to stop to fire. I like the idea of allowing melee heroes to attack out of a run. Slowing them down during the attack, or forcing them to stop for a half-second after the attack would allow running to still be effective. It was not as noticeable in Beta 1 because the only melee Demigod was rather slow (Rook). UB is much faster, however. In fact, several of his abilities involve speeding him up or slowing the enemy down.&nb
Agreed. The automatic camera tracking is very annoying. I know it can be turned off, it is just annoying to do so every time I die.
I think the normal mines are still rather useless. Don't get me wrong, they are a lot better, they just still can't be used effectively. Against creeps, the first creep that walks over them gets blown up. Its a waste, because it blows up before the rest of the creeps get there. One mine will kill one creep. I think if you gave them a short delay (one to two seconds) before detonation, it would be much better against creeps. You need quite a few to take do
I've been having this problem as well, and this explenation make sense. It makes the Mine unplayable, unfortunately. Just glad to hear it isn't my comp.
First, I want to say that I'm very glad we got an update! Despite all the flaws, it is getting better. I know that it is a beta and it still needs a lot of work, but I thought I would point out some bugs and flaws. I still have a lot of faith in the game and I think it is still very fun (just so nobody gets the wrong idea). -------------------- BUGS -------------------- 1. Biggest bug first. The new Mine map will not play properly.
Random elements in a competitive or tournament setting are BAD. What happens if you're playing 1v1 and the chosen items give a much larger advantage to the enemy Demigod than your Demigod? Sure, it won't happen all the time, but it will happen. Using the current balance, imagine trying to use the Torchbearer, but the -25% Cooldown helm wasn't there? You would be screwed. At professional levels, it could possibly decide the game. Random elements making
Meh, whatever. I just do this quite a lot, and I imagine it would happen even more often on larger maps. This is just a common action that requires you to move the camera to view the other side of the map while people are shooting at you. This is hardly "every possible thing", although I'm sure there are a handful of other things that they could impliment to make life easier. I am not asking for a bunch of random hotkeys because I think they might be theoretically usef
If I teleport to the Stronghold, then I have to walk around it to get to the shops and crystals. My APM may be low, but I still have the concept of time being valuable. I would save a lot of time if I could just press a key and go to the crystal. I know that I can run away, but that doesn't always solve the problem. If its a Regulus snipes me half a second before I get a healing tick that would save me, then running wouldn't have helped in the first place.
My APM is very low. I am not very good at moving the screen around and clicking on a bunch of different things. This isn't really an issue in Demigod, as you only have to worry about your one unit for the most part. The biggest annoyance is when I'm trying to teleport back to my base, and I have to zoom all the way out, rotate the camera a bit, and click on the relatively tiny health crystal. Even this isn't a huge problem unless I'm trying to use the Teleport Scroll a
The Finger of God is your game ender :P. Seriously. Go read the thread about goodies in the LUA files.
I think that double-tapping the space bar resets your view to default angle and elevation (the shot you see right when you start a game).

Wait, so you want to make it so the 1.2k damage mega attack never misses?
I just finished a game with the Torchbearer. At one point, I used the Fire Nova ability to send a group of creeps flying. One of them went over the edge and didn't seem to die right away. My Torchbearer and an allied AI Regulus sent a few shots at it, aimed straight down. Mine were crashing into the ground, but Regulus's crossbow was over the edge and was actually firing down at it. After a few seconds, the Regulus decided to use Angelic Fury to take care of it.&
you were the Rook, you'd be forced into buying Helms with +energy on which are useless for you. The -cooldown helm isn't so useless
+energy =/= -cooldown Although one of the helmets actually adds weapon damage, which is very useful to the Rook.
I'll have to agree with inno's last post that you should be able to select your 5 items through any combination of the shops. Anyways with the stacking thing it would be best if 25% aspd + 25% aspd = 50% aspd. The math would be easier and simpler to understand. Just balance items so they can stack that way. -25% cooldown on two items is too much so simply lower them both by 10% or something.
Does anyone
This plan is win. I think the system is very easy to understand, and at the same time allows for a huge amount of gameplay diversity. I'm not sure what to think about having two boots on at the same time. I guess, as long as they are different boots and not the exact same thing, it shouldn't be a big problem. They already plan to turn the "shopping mall" by your stronghold into one building, and after this the differences between boots and rings will become less noti
Maps: There will be more maps. As said, the engine supports maps many times the size of the current map used. I think they just gave us a basic little map to use in Beta 1 as part of the whole "dumbing it down" thing. The map itself is not actually bad, its just smaller than DotA's one map. Demigod, however, will have more than one map, which lets them have smaller maps without sacrificing the epic option of larger maps. Heroes: I think they mig
I think you should be able to view your skill tree and all the shops while you are dead, but you shouldn't be able to spend skillpoints or buy anything. Preventing people from viewing shops and skill trees while dead (the only down time you really have) makes it very difficult for newer players, as they don't know all the different items and skills like the back of their hand. I think the game would be easier to pick up and play if you could browse stores while you're dead instead
