I actually have fun in the second half too. One time I was definately was going to lose, but kept trying to persuade my opponent to attack my most fortified area. When he finally did the battle we extremely epic. Second half isn't always that bad.

The advent superweapon isn't really supposed to be used on it's own. It's more for support, such as knocking down enemy culture before you assault their planet, or keeping enemy culture under control when you don't have any capital ships to spare or you're about to lose your planet and you almost have a culture hub up and running.
Every planet in our solar system has a ring, even Earth. No it doesn't. Some think it had rings. The only planets to have rings are the gas giants.
Technically everthing in space has a ring, unless the law of gravity is null and void of course, it's just that the rings are so small. And if you define a ring as something that can be seen with the naked eye, technically nothing has a ring.

if we're not talking about the expansion I'm not going to talk about a campaign, because that's addressed in the expansion NO MORE GREEN STARS better defenses, most are just a joke right now, especially the starting 'turrets' ability to somehow defend noncolonizable places other than just having a fleet there having space ponies something to look forward to other than the acheivement

making 'turrets' actually decent against someone other than AI able to build outside of your planet, mostly for defending choke points that aren't colonizable or defending your captured mines upgrading advent superweapon, being able to shoot culture is neat, but nothing compared to the TEC and Vasari weapons more focus on non combat, and make it strategic, not just investing in infestructure for more money, that's a little too simple

The only way I can think of doing that is either writing it down or typing and printing it. I don't think there is such a feature, but if you ordered the collectors edition it came inside the box.

Back on topic. For the Z axis to be usable in the way most of the people posting want it they'd have to redo a lot of the main game. It's for that reason they're trying their best to keep the Z axis cosmetic only.

My point when I referenced WiC is that it is completely in real time except for off screen actions. I highly doubt USA, USSR, or NATO could get units air lifted to a battle feild that fast. I see what you mean by research and ship developement being off balance, but with planets orbiting, that would be impractical for a game because phase lanes would either switch constantly or become extremely elongated, and would distort the map if the lanes stayed the same. They might not even be moving in th

I can actually explain taking over systems in hours. Phase space, which lets you go more than twice the speed of light, and sublight speeds. As for the unit building part, this game is about as real time as World in Conflict, everything else is explained.

Again, phase space is completely made up. They can set any rules they want for it. How is it is stretch that we don't see planets orbiting? Seeing them spin is already pretty rediculous. As for the newtonian physics, to handle that graphically it would be a mess, just like making stars relatively sized would be. To handle that in terms of movement, then the ships would only have to turn thrusters on backwards to stay still, not too hard. To see orbital structures actually orbit would be
Another point:The Vasari believe they are being chased, but what if they are being...followed?Perhaps whatever the Vasari are fleeing from is actually driving them forward. Intentionally staying one or two steps behind, using the Vasari (unbeknownst to them) to uncover new worlds for...conquest? assimilation? consumption? It would explain why this force (or whatever) is expanding faster than anything the Vasari have ever encountered, and yet they are able to stay one step ahead of it in th
that sux. I would at least have hoped for an option! One of the reasons I got this over other product was the 3D movement.I do agree that it would currently be an exploit in multiplayer, however thats only because the game needs to revert to a true 3D form for planet defence\structures, mines etc and AI movement + the planet planes.I can only hope that they will do things properly in the expansion. They have removed a lot of good features for the sake of the layman.orbiting planetsmoonsZ-ax

As for the expansion and the new race... They might be that 'precursor race' and haven't advanced technologically because all they need to do is find beacons and destroy them, where as the Vasari are on the front lines obliterating everything in their way, and war drives technology. Maybe the Vasari have finally caught up to them in tech, but just haven't realized it. After all, it's been 10,000 years. As for biomechanical, I thought that's what the advent were.
