I was looking at the SINS forum and the Impulse forum today and noticed my Karma count is different. Not that I care took much about karma but I did think it was odd. <span style="font-

here is a suggestion for a couple new techs and a new ability for nearly worthless flak frigate. allow the flak to target projectiles from the super weapons like the novalift. sufficient flaks (10, 20, ?) could stop the weapon entirely protecting the planet. obviously, there would need to be a tech to get the upgrade. and a tech another to detect the incoming weapon. detection at maybe 5 seconds out or something with upgrades to 10 or 15 sec
Chuck Norris can defeat 9 unfair AIs in under 9 minutes. Chuck Norris once sneezed and cleared an entire galaxy in the largest mutli-star map. Chuck Norris once defeated 12 startbases in a sun's grav well with a single elbow strike. Chuck Norris clips his beard and uses the shavings as mines. Not a single ship has gotten though.
Sins is a great game, but it is very practical. In order to make it an epic game, the practicality must be dropped and replaced with complexity.
part of what makes SINS so wonderful to such a wide player base is how easy it is to play. we play on the LAN at home, hours at a time. my wife loves being able to overwhelm AIs. if you make the game more complex and say have 2x as many tech tree items, or 2x as many controls for a planet, i promise interest w
read through the SINS forums chief. its all there. diplo is the next mini-expansion. the 3rd is still being planned by IC and rumored by the fans
a little marketing advice ... part 2 you guys did great with impulse and impulsedriven.com. the store front, blogs, forums, etc are gelled together nicely. taking up "more space" on the page is silly. impulse isnt a steam wanna-be. your simple and clean interface is highly identifiable with your users and a welcomed relief from trying to view other sites. considering you sell more than just games, Impulse is a great blend of function and
well, if she was selling the downloaded songs and making money, then i can see how the jury could lay down such a harsh fine. otherwise, it seems a little crazy to think that 24 songs downloaded by one person and only used by that one person are worth 2 mil.
i have seen SINS pop up in my media center programs before. so im sure that is what it is. since i dont run MCE from the desktop but rather from a remote xbox360 it doesnt really do much for me. but its there which is cool.
i love space ponies threads. they make me smile.
SINS is wonderfully fun. I downloaded it for the demo and that afternoon I went and bought it at the store. This was back before Impulse was required for updates. 1.03 or something. I would have to go look. Regardless. You will love the full game.
to see the capitol planet brackets, research scrolling the view out until you see them. for artifacts you have to search the planet and hope the spaec ponies will favor you with shiney things. [e digicons][/e]
it pretty much sucks. sorry.
i hear ya on that. impulse flies through downloads. i have a 5mb connection at home. im phyically close to a major US internet routing hub which has proven to a number of advantages. i can pull downloads from impulse about 4 times fast than stream. it makes a huge difference in the perception of the services.
great guys, now i will just have to go home and play a game for myself. this might be an easy mod to track down the unit movement speed. anyone have any pointers in that regard?
[e digicons];)[/e] i know this is straying a bit, but i want you to know my reasoning... i ran a server for file print backup and web in house for years. i used it as a game server as well hosting CS and Freelancer. Once I moved away from the games i still used it for the more classic reasons. this was a low profile dell 500Mhz PIII with a bunch of RAM and a couple of HDDs. Since I like to run my secondary systems faceless and we store everythi
Retail PC version has 5 Securom activation and revoke tool thankfully.
my guess is this would be why impulse doesnt have it yet.
i tested out home server as well about a month ago. i liked the UI. it was speedy, even on the virtual machine. i was able to connect it to the 360 and do a bunch of kinda neat things. but when it came down to it, i really dont need it. it would cost cash for the PC, cash for the software, cash for the power to run it, cash for the power to cool the house down, etc etc. but if you are looking for a big budget solution for media streaming and storage in your
i will admit that i havent gone back and read everyone elses ideas, but here are a few ive had... Focused Insurgency TEC ability to focus insurgent attacks. Could be used by players to weaken choke points or faint attacks without committing fleet or identity. User could right click a foreign planet and select focus insurgent button. Diplomatic Vessel Ship class provides a kind of mobile culture. Limit on number
[e digicons][/e] Im with Annatar on this one. Slightly tempted for Sword of the Stars but even at $8 idk if would get it. I may just wait for some of the others to come back on sale.
no question i will buy from SD in the future. GPG has developed games that we have spent hundreds of hours playing. once DG drops in price i will likely buy two copies and spend hundreds of hours playing it again. the only downside to that is that I have to take time away from SINS...sorry IC guys. valve will still get some of my business but with new developers being added all the time to Impulse, i spend less and less time in Steam. the original Wing Commander carrier Tigers Claw. When I was 10 there was nothing better in life than to see the Claw when my little fighter was a bumb away from being space junk. then seeing the whole fleet sortie (which was the Claw, a destoryer or two, a corvett and maybe a few supply ships) was simply unreal to me. the armada that struck the most fear into me, was in StarTrek Armada. My wife loved to play Borg and she would bring in a hundred
yep. SD support rocks.
very nice. always fun to see a little bit of the business you guys are in. keep up the good work.
if one more person says uninstall and remove registry key
ok... but highlanders fix has helped a lot of people. maybe it will help in this case. you may also want to run a belarc report. it will give a nice catalog of whats on the computer. get it from download.com.
i havent seen anything in the change logs. im pretty sure you can mod the game to the point where they are more frequent.
