To be clear, Trinity contains 3 Separate games, each adding additional units and gameplay. Rebellion is all units and game play in one game, plus more. If you can get Rebellion, you should because the others are obsolete once you have that. I would say the one reason to get Trinity at this point is if you want to ease into the additional Units and gameplay. It also makes more sense to learn factions pre-Rebellion since they Split; helps you understand how to use them before layering t

I do worry about my idea being too easy... If only a few techs have resource cost, then wouldn't be necessary to always research diplomacy concurrently? While making the diplomacy tree more useful is good, I question how to bottleneck the tree enough that diplomacy research doesn't become a 'must'. Anyone have any ideas about this?
Another consideration is eco players....how do you make pacts always useful and viable for all games without making them too powerful in the hands of an eco player?
Maybe make cost not a Factor? Remove the resource Cost from most techs in the Diplomacy tree and replace it with something you get from actively pursuing relations. This would obviously be a big change, but you could recycle Diplomacy points for this new resource.

Well, the stickies are always a good place to start even if they are old. However, my sticky was updated only days ago and is still good, but is a reference chart of ship stats. You can get a good idea of what counters what by going to it and looking through the Damage Modifiers Chart, which tells you what bonuses ship classes get vs other classes. However, here is my best rundown for you: early game it's light frigates>flak>corvettes>long range frigates>light

Obviously you want to utilize the Vasari Loyalist's ability to go mobile. If you want to keep this strategy, I think the way to look at the above advice is: "going all-out mobile early is not very safe"

As a non-MP player, you can and probably will completely discredit this, but... I would like to put forth the possibility that rebellion offers better research strategies earlier for all the factions. Nothing has improved the diplomatic route. As stated, now there are Titans and it's kind of a race to get there. The Bi-directional relationship thing has always been there and has always sucked. These both contribute to the lack of pacts, but I think they are only obstacles.

anyhow, the only way setting the LAA flag would help is if you have more than 4gb of ram on your system. The only way having more than 4gb of ram on your system is useful is if you have 64 bit, so all in all, you would want to have a 64 bit OS and more than 4gb of ram. Then, it is only a small improvement, but it is helpful.

Ok, so, what would make sense to me for culture is if ALL factions culture upgrades made it tougher for opponents to defend against culture. If I spend alot on culture upgrades, you should have to either spend a fortune on unupgraded centers to combat it or match my capabilities. Advent should, in my opinion always have a small advantage in cultural capabilities due to their reliance on it, though I don't think that is absolutely necessary. Anyhow, the way I would accomplish this

well, i never said it wasn't a philosophy. I said the word was not necessary in the description. Take that word out and read it again. It doesn't really change anything. It merely points out that it is an idea or reasoning that is logical but not proven by facts (in which case it would be a 'theory', not a philosophy). However, that aside, that's not the interpretation that I'm taking issue with. the word 'philosophical' in that sentence in not necessary. What I take issue with is the interpretation "conscious life causes the physical universe". The way I r

Are you reading the same thing I am? Or are you just trying to egg me on. I do have to sleep every few weeks or so... What the Anthropic principle is about is random laws of physics. Let's say we build a machine that makes universes and each one it makes has completely random laws of physics. And we're interested in which ones have life in them. Well, only a very small fraction of universes can support life. Why? Well, with random laws of physics, you're sure to ha

The Loyalists are also extremely aggressive, seeking to assimilate anyone and everyone. The TEC seems to be their main target, but
