I take a planet in... one month. No pillage possible. It's normally hard with countries, but planets are taken fast with no following guerrilla war neither (ie.IRAQ). Wanna go Civilization IV style with pillage? Aim at infrastructures and run away! The enemy is sending reinforcements?

Each time someone came with "the AI is cheating" and someone knwoledgeable came to answer, well... it was not. From a certain difficulty level, the AI gets bonus even if it's not free ships/techs (it still needs to get them).

More random events maybe? And/or alignment dependent on common moves (use of gases, backstabs...)? Anyway, I chose diplomacy: MOO3 had one aspect I liked and that was economic/other alliances with different degrees. Ok, I'm not crazy on 5 degrees of economic/cultural/etc alliances. But... it would be nice to have basic/normal/advanced alliances of different types (ie.economic, military, cultural, diplomatic). I would like a SMAC/Civ4 style of government too though. Veeeeeee

In games where acting is depending on "time" variable (SimCity, RTS, TBS...), the time goes at the same speed for everyone so.. why would one produce double just because he's ruling his kingdom like if he was a bureaucracy-on-two-legs on a spree? This said, he might simply be brought more challenge, or maybe he could win medals I don't know what... in any case, WoW players DO play alot even if they could do almost as well within fewer hours. And this system limiting "many hours = bett

Unification Wars (and GC, their other world) is the most well done game of that kind I ever saw. They might well be #1 on the net, and it is surprising to see how many are ready to pay a little to get bonuses. Players love the developers and are even paying the guy's hospital bill There are numbers here and there but _everything_ is done to flatten the learning curve (the

First, I still agree that talent gets consolidated so that any waste in controlled, and some companies like to kee only a marketting department after they killed actual production (which costs more). Example of companies aiming at the opposite (wether you like them or not) would be Nintendo and Apple. But which percentage of consumers like innovation so much as to put less time in repeated fun-factor? You see, one needs to like intellectual challenge, or art, or... not strictly games.

If only two "slots" are left after multiplayer, maybe these two slots will have to be given to features which enhances mp experience while being nice in sp (simple player) too. Ex: - Diplomacy features permitting backstabs (great in mp... not bad in sp) - More specific kinds of political, economic/other alliances. Disarmament or whattever. - Insertion of "colonialism" and "influencing policies" of others' world - Metaverse-oriented material, competition, whattever

I'm not sure if bugs should be on the main forum instead of some forum only opened to testers. But I guess you dev thought about that Artwork: Art is expensive?... This is so classic in mass-produce society, where human labor becomes the most expensive in an era of machines. Innovation or art are not from machines so... expensive <img src="http://im

erm..... what would you think of using cargo hulls for ALL your fighters? It took me a long time before I figure out that it wasn't me being weak!! I guess that some others made the error. It took me HOURS to see that since I got few fights in the beginning (and then suicide armadas )

GTA5, you seem to be an exception in everything so you'll manage as long as you give information to those who'd help without slapping them. Personally I don't really know what you did wrong, but first things first: put the right serial. Then for modding, the modders say it's even better than elsewhere so I guess it's true for others who would like to get in.

Somehow I didn't get many random events in the earlier part of the game. I got the choices later on, like Metaphase. I have no idea if it is an anomaly or if it is somehow linked to the way I play or something.

I read an article (cannot find the URL) which said that MMOG games in Asia, which are hugely popular, were aiming at attracting young women and then then the men followed. There's a big social phenomenon there (with lots of Chinese caracters ). These games don't work the same way as say WoW and have a big social thing to it (kind of social gathering place like a pub?). Anyone can enter an

If SD would come out each time someone says something about them on this planet, they'd need to put a part of their team just for that. And guess what? This is exactly the team which is in formation right now.

Good read Brad. Thanks. As usual, it's more interesting the great majority of texts out there about the gaming industry. As for the 1 or 10 reviewers, a part of this might have to do with the fact that people don't play every single game and so it really goes "I buy the best, and the rest I never look at". I still think that good reviewers make nuances, but it's a bit like stars which are sooooooooooo great some seem to not be able to find ways to describe them but by hyperboles

Well their price is lower than usual, the quality is higher... and they might have little power on the overall price anyway. There are intermediaries and so on, and since those are all paid in $US... So there are some limits there. And it might be even more limited as they cannot use a different model for each individual, trying to figure out where here's from. That's what I see, there might be more. I once chatted with someone wh

Could I be given the opportunity to REALLY be evil (or angelic)? Truly defending freedom (slavery) and so on My 2 cents: Is it me or there are few random events? I think I got 3 last game. Overall, there are few aspects influencing our good/evil situation, while there would be so much potential for being angels or evils

Doesn't seem to pop up easily enough for casual gamers out there. I tried again google and with my keywords it must be somewhere in the 558k results... Still... shame on me, but it might be a potential addition to the official website as a separate PDF.

To me, these ideas seem a bit oriented towards adding bits and parts which are to be managed. I am not sure everyone prefer to manage little things even if these are nice curiosities of SF world. I don't, but it's just me. Great leaders were installed in Civ4 as something more though, as some kind of "great men of humanity" phenomenon... it changes the game dynamic instead of being some sort of exterior-add-on wich risks to be a gimmick.
