@Whiskey144 - Read the version number for Distant Stars under the Vanilla Sins 1.14 - 1.181 compatible resease. You'll see it's 1.01. Like Ryat said, I know what I'm talking about (In this case). @Hegemon76 - Take a screenshot of the error. (Print Screen button) Open up MS Paint and paste the image. You can then post the picture of it if you want to show it off. A couple of suggestions though. Unzip the .07 files to your desktop first, then move t

(Personal / DS) Tim makes his way to the fourth moon of Finley 4. It was decided that fleet will make their headquarters there, but no real urgency had been made to build the moon up outside of basic housing modules for work crews and those wishing to live there. His shuttle lands at the only completed super structure on the moon, a large spaceport complex capable of holding dozens of transfer vehicles at the same time. A desireable feature for

(Personal / DS) Tim walks into Henry's temporary office at the main town hall on Finley 1 and takes a seat opposite from him at the desk. "Any idea when Roesh and Todd are headed back?" Tim asks. "Not a clue. Whenever they're done is when they'll head back." Henry replies. Tim just sits there silent while nodding. "Something's bothering you?" Henry questions.<br

These files are found in the gameinfo folder of the mod. The files doing the buffs themselves are: BuffPlanetDesertHome.entity BuffPlanetTerranHome.entity The files telling the planet what ability to use are: AbilityPlanetDesertHome.entity AbilityPlanetTerranHome.entity Next, if you want the wording of the ability to show up in the game, in the string folder, search for origin defense (control + F is your friend here) in the english.str fi

(Pesonal / DS) Back at the Finley Star, Tim is holding a video conference with his fleet captains. "Hey kids. Just so we're all clear, the Assailant, Contender, Fulcrum, and Firebrand are heading out on assignment. The Hoshikos are going with us as well as frigate group Baker. Group Able is staying put with the rest of you for now. The unassigned Kodiak and the remaining scouts are all assigned to group Able as of r

Nothing was taken out. In fact, I think you're recalling something incorrectly. In Unmodded Sins (all versions) there are only 2 types of Terran and Desert planets, Normal and Home. All of the other types, gas giant, asteroid, ice, volcanic, dead asteroid, space junk, pirate base, etc... There is only 1 type of each. So whatever secondary planet you think you saw, I can assure you that you didn't. To verify this, simply load up the in game map maker and s

I made this mini-mod earlier... Well, yesterday now. It's called 'Better Resource Giants'. This changes the gas giants resource asteroid count. Details in the Read Me included. I also stand corrected on the number of bonuses they pull from. The number is 8, not 4 or 5. But still, considering there's 105 total bonuses.... 8 is less then 8%. Give it a whirl Draakjacht and let me know what you think. http://sites.google.com/site/steel

You can always force them to show up by making your own map using the map editor in game or the forge. I guess I'm lucky in the sense that I get at least 1 every other map or so.... But they're just eye candy and actually not all that useful and more of a pain in the ass then anything. I'll tell you why. Huge well radius that slows progress down. Simply trying to drive through it, or build stuff up, the distance one must travel is a pain and time consuming. H

(Personal / DS) Roesh finds Todd at the civilian reserch station in orbit over Finley 2. Todd is standing in the corner of an office that is temporarily his until the research projects he's overseeing are completed. He's reading a spreadsheet full of notes and performance data. Roesh walks in and takes a seat behind the desk which has several stacks of paperwork. Not getting any attention aside from the quick glance up from Todd, he begins

(Personal / DS) Over Rebirth, Tim and Teldin continue to trade stories with humor and delight. In the short amount of time the two seem to have developed a fairly strong friendship. Whether it be from sharing common histories, brothers in battle even though they've served on different sides, or just because they both find it easy to make new friends, neither can say. All they know is that they'll be trading more stories in the future. &nbsp

(Personal / DS) Continuing on to the outer reaches of the Mercevica Nebula, ever closer to the source of the energy signal, Roesh, Casey, Todd, and the crew of the Kodiak cruiser come across a dark planet. They maneuver to a low orbit over it, only to discover the readings suddenly stop. "Hey boss, that's wierd." Casey mutters. "They went away?" Roesh asks, looking over her shoulder. "Y

Not trying to be rude by being blunt here, but do you suffer from epilepsy? I ask because you're not really saying what the problem is with the graphics other then they're overdone and reducing makes things worse, so all I can come up with is that you're trying to maintain the look of the game at a high level but have less lights flashing on the screen from the weapons fire and explosions. Especially considering how plain the originals are, which you said you didn't care for eithe

OK, my 4th and final edit I hope now that I've done as much research as I can.... [quote who="-Ue_Carbon" reply="2606" id="2550372"] What version you trying to make work? Both recent patches (Entrechment and Diplomacy) have that txt file in the .7zip. Also try redownloading the mod. (Personal / DS) Back at the Finley system star, Roesh calls up Tim. "We may have a little problem I want you to go check out." "What's that?" Tim asks. "Daros is a little light on ships. Take a couple caps and one of the frigate groups over to Rebirth and just hang out until their fleet returns." "Not a problem, what should I tell the locals?" "Doesn't matter.&nb

I know my checksum is different (36826792) but that's only because I've changed stuff to get the forge to operate at a higher capacity and be a little more user friendly. Though I did notice that adding files for the map portrait window to the mod's texture folder had no effect on my checksum value, so that's a green light for map makers to create custom preview art.
