Like the title says, either this game or World in Conflict. I've looked into both games, and have asked at multiple forums (including WiC forums) and have gotten many different responses. Now I finally come to you guys, how many of you have both games and which one do you prefer?
I am the clan leader of one of the largest clans in WiC (World in conflict) with over 200 members. I played WiC everyday for 6 months straight. Sins is the better choice because:
He has a point Rhedd, more people die in car accidents over here than have died in Iraq for the entire war, but I think that is more an argument for safer cars than for Iraq not being a war O.o A war has two or more sides, and so just because we've done extremly well so far doesn't mean it isn't a war. The number of Iraqis who have died are any where from 300,000 to over 1 million, I think I'd call that a war. Sorry Frogboy, didn't see your post as I was posting
To me, a
I wouldn't argue with HuntingX. In my opinion, he could easily defeat 90% of the players in the game. He's very good, and he knows what he's talking about. This could change overtime when more people have more playing experience, but for now it stands true.
Frogboy said
But we still don't get the editorial buzz that some of the big name titles do because our genre isn't considered as "cool" as other genres.
I agree with this statement and it pisses me off. I stopped playing shooter games (FPS) back with BF1942 and Red Orchestra. I just think the concept is stupid and boring. Going around and slinging around your crosshairs and pressing the mouse button gets really old really fast, and they continu
During WWII, I would've far rather been French than Nazi.
99% of German soldiers were not Nazis. Nazi was a slang word that Churchill gave to the NSDAP. Most german soldiers were not a member of Hitler's political party.
Tell us the story of your illustrious military career, please.
Irrelevant "The politician is the Super General" - Karl von Clausowitz on War Iraq is a mere skirmish compared to what's coming.
Tell that to the men and women that live in that stinking hellhole, year in and year out. Tell that to the soldiers who lay bleeding to death on foreign sand without having ever met their three-year-old children. Ever come close to giving your life in service to your country? As someone who has, I feel rather compelled to say, "Shut the hell up." Now, wouldn't it be neat if we'd go right back to talking about a cool video game, instead of present-day American po
It would be interesting if capital ships had double the shields, hull, and armor.
Just so that Stardock's position is clear: 1) Sins of a Solar Empire is not just the frist RT4X game, it is the first compuer game to take place in space - of any kind. 2) Sins of a Solar Empire is the first game to make use of the mouse to control the game. 3) Sins of a Solar Empire is the first game to support resolutions greater than 320 x 200 by 256 colors. I hope this settles any sort of discussion on the matter.
Hahahaha....LOL!
ong range frigates go chasing carriers in circles around the edge of gravity wells
If you find yourself going in circles then just split your fleet in half and send them in opposite directions.
WOW, GREAT! we can buy this game to Bush and now he can declare war for everyone, in game, without killing anyone for real. finally!
I would hardly call Iraq a war. That's no war. More Americans die in automobile accidents in 1 year than has died in Iraq. If Bush is guilty of declaring war against Muslims in Iraq then Bill Clinton is guilty of declaring war on Christians in Bosnia.
none cares. Learn to beat people within the time you want.
I appreciate how you like to pretend to represent everyone, but actually you're wrong. I've spoken with lots of people (right here in this forum) that have mentioned they would like to have a TIMER option for multiplayer games. Besides, if you don't like the idea of a timer then you can choose to host or join a game with no timer. Freedom of choice is a beautiful thing, unless you're a th
Nope, it's just a map layout tool. You could do that if you really wanted by changing galaxyScenarioDef.galaxyScenarioDef file to include however many ships for the players to start with, and just make a 2-3 planet map to go with. No build time, no travel time.
that's a bummer. thanks
How about replying to the rest of my post.
You're in the category of those who don't want a timer. So, simply don't host or join games with a timer. Case closed.
Is it possible to do test battles. Say you want to pit 70 LRMs up against 40 Illuminators. Is this possible with Galaxy Forge?
I want a timer option that will end multiplayer games at a set time. Not everyone has 5 hours to spare for an online game. Especially the hard working folks who have jobs.
see kreulgor we were not tricking/lying to you in the other thread when stating theres damage/armour types..etc.
I know. You're good guys. Well, most of ya anyways ;)
I don't know too much about the embargo because it's never been used against me (saw it used once against my teammate). Could make a patch......if the "victim planet" has a stronger fleet in the gravity well then the embargo would be automatically canceled. You could also make a technology which neutralizes the embargo, Han Solo style. What was Han Solo in Star Wars?
A typical online Win-Loss record for someone is: 47 games played 13 wins 2 losses This means there were 32 games unaccounted for. I believe a TIMER option could dramatically reduce the unaccounted games. If someone is getting spanked, instead of simply quiting, they may be a gentleman and hang in there until the TIMER is up. Again, I'm saying it should only be an OPTION for hosts and players. If you don't like the idea of a timer then don't host or j
I really could use a timer. I find out sometimes by looking at the graphs that i fell behind in certain areas, such as ship building. If i had a timer I will know that by X time my fleet size is usually this big.
The TIMER option idea is definitely for online multiplayer gaming. There would be no use for it on a single player game since you have a SAVE option.
we don't f'n need this.
There is nothing wrong with making it an option. If YOU don't want it then when you host a game online then YOU don't have to select it. Get it? For those of us who get tired of people quiting in the middle of a game, or for those of us who only have X amount of hours to play then a TIMER would be perfect. Get it? The TOP 2 reasons why people quit in the middle of a game are: 1. They are losing 2. They have ran o
There is all this talk about how Soase (Great game btw, I love it) Is the first RT4x or that it is so unlike any other game out there that it has to be put in its own box. Well I submit to you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pax_Imperia This game is a real time 4X game where you can design your space ships from scratch like Space Empires, research INSANE levels of technology, build actual buildings on the planets (That are graphiclly shown) conduct real time combat with other empires and rat
Both Illuminators and LRM's are both ANTI Medium with Light armor. They both do 100% damage to each other.LRM's are better at shooting things from range, and Illuminators are better when you fly a bunch of them in close to a bunch of other ships.
Thanks Cykur. That's exactly what I wanted to know.
