Frankly no AI that I've ever come across, except in chess, can do squat against a slightly better than average human. Without cheating that is.

it cert looks like it's grid all the way, though I will agree with someone above in that I've been waiting for a "fantasy" Total War for some time. Closest I got was Mark of Chaos, etc, with Warhammer. But a Fantasy Total War type RTS portion of the game, especially with moddable terrain and a few thousand units, and wizards, dragons able to do insane damage? Yes plz.

I think a loyalty stat would be very important, especially for allowing civil wars/splits in vassal families (which would be awesome) -Think of your best vassal family spltting early for half (whatever %) to join the enemy in a campagin. Could bring up some very interesting possibilities. Not to mention the joy in hunting them down over a hundred years. Hatfields and Mccoys? Pffsha, they got nothing.

I'd also like to point out that there's more inbreeding today (closer) than there was in the mideval era. Cousin marriages that today would be allowed would be illegal back then. Although of course these rules were sometimes broken, as is life.

Plus you could pretty much 'make' a hero in game by just giving a ton of essence to a single creature. Mmm...dragon with lots of essence..oh yeah.

I'm gonna go with a lot of customizable heroes...but since we'll be able to add our own heros via editing...*shrug* Don't really matter.

This is awesome as long as they don't totally consolize it. Also I don't remember Mech4 being worse than the others. I still have the cds fro Mech4 and all the add-ons..and now it's free! But god I really hope they don't mess this up.
