I think you guys made a mistake in the email. Star Control prototype builds and tools [Winter 2016] - shouldn't it be Winter 2015 ?
I'm guessing here, but 2016 starts with winter. :) I hope they are meaning Jan/Feb 2016 and for some reason didn't say 1Q2016. @Stardock - I tried to access <a href="https://forums.starcontrol.c

1. Objective based Melee would be awesome! Even if it's a multiplayer only feature. Destroy/Dock With The Starbase anyone? 2. Large universe! - I know I'm not everyone, but I could do planet landings/explorations for days on end, simply because they were there! 3. A little more in Hyperspace. Could we have rare native life forms and the *occasional* Easter Egg or explorable system in hyperspace itself? 4. Game doesn't end with main story d

Top down is a must. That was the most engaging and memorable part of the original. It was a sphere but also a plane, why else could you fly off one edge and back onto the opposite? Gravity wells and asteroids should return too. Such a small thing as an asteroid affected so many battles when I played. There was nothing quite like seeing a parade of 10 Ur-Quan fighters coming at you, and then WOOSH! a passing asteroid destroys 9 of them. That was always a fun occurance. Keeping top

Favorite: A well landed crystal ball from across the map while using a Chinjesu. I loved the "thump" of a full ball hitting my enemy. And if they got too close, spam fire and it created a LOT of close-in flak damage. I got stuck in more than a few gravity wells with it though... I also really enjoyed the Mycon, when used properly. Rear-firing ships were strange, but usually quite effective. And, of course, the Chmrr...oh what was not to love about that! "Eat burn

That would certainly be interesting, but a lot of work. I don't remember anything close to that from SC2, so it would all be new features. Perhaps a courtesy Captain's Console, where you could call down to component types (energy generation, weapons, propulsion, crew quarters) and get a verbal status report that would be based on how many of that component you have installed (ex: too few energy modules compared to weapons, and your "Mr. Scott" would say, "Engines are underpowere

My name is Craig. I've played PC games since I was six, and they were all on 5.25" floppy disk. I loved SC2 from the moment I got it. The melee with my best friend was great. We pushed so many buttons on the keyboard with two player that the keyboard stopped working, making one of us lose the ability to turn during melee...I loved that! Mwahaha! My favorite part of SC2 though was the giant fold-out map! I kept that map at my desk and referred to it all the time while playing

Hooray for closed economy. "So with how it is now whoever clicks first gets an advantage. This is stupid." --Lol. Whoever does ANYTHING first gets an advantage. It is not stupid, it's life. My parents bought their house before I bought mine, now they have more principal when it comes time to sell! OMG, NERF MY FOLKS! /end sarcasm *walks away*

I hate to be so simple, knowing the flak I'll get, but I just bought a hecka-fast computer, and could probably hit f6 much faster than you. So don't change a thing. Don't fix it. If you want more money, then pay it for the stuff early on and don't promote a cap ship quite as fast. C'mon people, INNOVATE!

On behalf of all the posts asking for strategies to be *fixed* please stop it! If I build more ships before my oppoenet I can beat him! OMG, that's not fair! If he buys more stuff before me, I lose, OMG, that's not fair! Did you ever play tic tac toe as a kid? Put an x in any corner and you win, OMG, it's not fair! I never once asked the devs to fix tic tac toe. Don't fix stuff, beat your enemy down! If you do it on a steep playing field, the so much the better, more glor

I just finished my first 4 player FFA last night, me against 3 computers. When I finally got around to mashing the two that kept attacking me, I was delighted to discover that the fourth player had already been destroyed without me lifting a finger. :D

Where the heck are the benefits of exploration described?!?! I've gotten a few things, but I cannot find a way to read about WHAT any of them do, or to even see them once I have explored...the announcement just goes down the list until it's gone and then I don't know where I have goodies. A tooltip somewhere would be nice!

My speed is fine, but the download is spontaneously resetting at 92%....it just goes back to 0%. Download speed is around 500-800k average, and the only thing I have running is a streaming radio broadcast in the background..... Anything I can do to end that loop?

I bought GC2 DA online yesterday and got SDC at the same time. I've never had a SD product before last night as far as I know. I got my shiny new account and tried to register and activate GC2 DA, and it keeps telling me "Failed to validate your GC2 registration information. Please verify you have entered your e-mail address and serial number correctly." I have only used the one address, and I have tried 4 different serials now (the original with dashes, and the 3 e-mailed to me late

Yahooo!! Apologies if I missed an announcement somewhere, but this is a really nice feature in a 4x. Thanks a ton. I can't wait to play in 9 days! :D

Command throne...I've read about 20 warhammer books lately, so that kind of imagery is very much in my brain...more of a throne than a chair. Just a little bit of flair that a rich commander might put in his hell-hole assignment to make him feel more important. If your best face is still grim, you need a face lift. It's not THAT awkward. :)
