It isn't. TA requires both DL and DA, and it's only available direct at present (we don't currently have any plans to take it to retail). So as Peace Phoenix says, if you have nothing at all and want to get up to the very latest, the ultimate bundle is the cheapest way.
I have GalCiv2 retail (Europe version). Can i buy the expansions (DA ans TA) download only via SDC? I have a SD account. Thanks.
IDid you start with pirates set to inactive? If you start with them active, and they have more than one base, they should not show as defeated (broken glass) until all bases are destroyed. If you start with them inactive, they show as defeated and don't raid, but they do still have bases. Their bases are part of the map itself, and can't be added/taken out by toggling their active/inactive status.
Active. That's why i think it is a bug. I got the 'broken glass screen' but i
How do I set the difficulty level for Sins? All I see are options for low-normal-high resources/structures and slow-normal-fast play speed. I haven't installed the 1.04 update yet as I am not sure I want all the changes in it. Plus I want to review my last couple of games.
You should read the manual.

...(says the pirate panel) but the AI still gives money to them. I checked the system and actually found a pirate base still alive. Is this a bug or i'm missing something here? Thanks, Gerry

I have found the allied AI quite competent. During the very first games i played, they have actually saved my ass a couple of times. They also respond to the help requests if they are able to do it.
So, I always try to stay ahead of the game with the pirate raids... I keep the coffers stocked. However, seemingly everytime as the clock ticks to zero, I get a notification that I've been outbid. I quickly add more cash to take the lead, but as the clock is at zero, the pirates come for me...So next turn I have the lead in bidding to start with as my money carries over since i lost the bidding... but i add more to be sure... but still as the clock ticks to zero, I ma again suddenly
No need to be rude Gerry. Actually, page 22 in the manual doesn't mention missions at all, but calls them "Ally Requests".Page 31 discusses "Missions", which is what the poster originally asked: "You should be able to decline the mission and offer the other players missioins."So would I be correct in saying that you can make Ally Requests, but not request the players to perform missions (and I mean missions as described on page 31 of the manual)?
No rudeness here, only a
It depends on the country Mazuo. In the UK I have had no problems returning faulty software and damaged CDs and DVDs; you have to open it and use it to discover if it works or not.
A lost password is hardly compared to a defective or damaged CD/DVD.
One simple way to fix this is for the Tutorials to improve to include more strategy and tactics. They explain how to use the UI to do stuff, but not really why you need to do certain things. The game model is fairly complicated for RTS noobs. This is great for hardcore gamers or people with infinite time to learn it all the hard way, but is bad for the beginners. And most [with this forum the exception] of the online help is spread sheets which smells a lot like work and less like fun - un
Change of the Map:BackDoor-->BackStab. Just change the IDS_NAME, forgot to change IDS_DESCRIPTION, So, you know, show in StringNotFound. If anyone want to correct this minor bug, you can open English.str, find " IDS_CUSTOMGALAXY_DESCRIPTION_BACKDOOR " and change to "IDS_CUSTOMGALAXY_DESCRIPTION_BACKSTAB"
Thank you, i noticed that too but didn't know how to fix it.
FYI, it's not clearly noted in the patch notes, but I do believe the particle effects disappearing bug is fixed in 1.04 as well
What kind of bug is (was) it? Gerry
So I got the digital download version (no box) off the site. In the downloads there was also a file called Sins_Bonuspack_103_setup.exe. I ran that after installing the game. Now I suspect that the tech-tree etc, is included in that file, but I can't find it! I've search for pdf files, but no such luck. Am I wrong, is there something else in the bonuspack file? BB
The tech tree is in the artwork bonus file (as a PDF file. Gerry
The "bonus pack" part of the patch consists of some extra maps and in-game content that were added after the game went off to manufacturing. The tech tree poster, soundtrack, etc, which you seek are only available to owners of the Collector's Edition (and will appear on the updates page if you're eligible).
He has the digital only version of the game and i understand that is the CE version, right? I got the 1.3 version of the game from SDC: should i run the 'bonu
