Froggy, that's a great point. Seems that very few people I know are trained in the tech fields. Most of the folks I know have office jobs or work in construction, restaurants, or furniture. I know a couple of folks that are trained as IT techs. On works for IT support at Ashley Furniture Industries, and the other is in the Navy (he got a degree in computer graphics at Full Sail, couldn't find a job, and is now an avionics tech for the Navy).

And therein lies the issue.... it fairly obvious that the people who can make the largest impact (leaders, industry, etc.) aren't willing to change their own way of life. Why give up all those creature comforts? And unfortunately, the true environmentalists usually end up being the focus of critcism and jokes....
The leftists don't do anything to actually solve a problem, they just do things to make each other "feel" good about something, even though it doesn't actually help.
ID, not to turn this into a political debate, but the right-wingers don't exactly have the best track record as far as environmentalism is concerned. I'm not trying to spout political rhetoric here. I vote independent because I think both the left- and right-wingers are pretty much full of sh!t, and

Cliff, I like the three screens. The vis (3rd page) is cool, but I like the 2nd page (l/r speaker vol) better. Personal preference is all. As for other media players having three pages.... I have WMP and Creative installed and neither one of those have three pages. Very cool update to a very cool media player. Keep up the awesome work!
Seriously, the Third World pollutes the most(Cairo ranks in top twenty cities for pollution), and until the World starts to educate us we're not climate change/earth warming/ iceberg falling worriers. Heck, in Cairo, non-smokers are second class.
Actually, if you'll look around on the 'net, you see that America has the largest carbon footprint out of all the countries, first- or third-world. That's very sad, but our current president pretty much refuses to acknowledge the

Unfortunately, a lot of people seem to take the "I'm just one person, what difference does that really make?" attitude towards this. Make the change to environmental friendly living. Tell you friends, family, and neighbors. Get involved. As cheesy as it sounds, one person can make a difference.

I use energy-saving bulbs in all my lights (except for the porch...I have a yellow anti-bug light out there). I turn everything off (including my PC) when I leave. My girlfriend and I own one car together, a little Dodge Neon. I walk to the mailbox and the local corner store. I try my best because we do only have one planet.......

Oh, and as for Vista vs XP...Microsoft is continuing primary support for XP until next year. Secondary support until 2014. So XP will be good for awhile. I love XP (but I'm getting Vista Ultimate from MS for free...).

Leo, you're absolutely right. I got an LG DVD-RW for about $75 brand new. My nVidia 8500GT 512mb was bought on sale for $129.99, and I bought 2 1gb ram sticks for less than $100. My Pentium 4 3.4gHz processor I bought from the local PC store for $150 new (they were having a sale). 2 internal HDD and one external. And a 750w power supply for $100. all told, I might have spent about $650 to upgrade my PC to MY standards, not some faceless company's......
