AlMonty - none at all? It happens to me over time...especially if I change a window blind. Could you try that sometime if you use WB?
I'm working on a LCARS WB Right now.
Yeah - but I really want it to do stuff - like start up the transporter and phasers - that I hope you are also working on.
TXpatriot - I am glad you chimed in. Well - I guess I can do some research to see what is happening then. I thought it was just Vista actually.
Yes, I think you are right. It is a Vista thing - a reboot clears it up for a while then back to acting up.
Well I agree - I am not totally sure either what is going on. I think the problem is not the LAN side but the WAN side. However - the preferred method has always been hardware for KVM emulation due to port collision problems. Here is the Multiplicity site - maybe some help there. [link="https://www.stardock.com/products/multiplicity/infoguide.asp"]WWW Link[/link]
ZubaZ - I am not familiar with Multiplicity that is why I am asking. I can try to duplicate the problem on one of our servers to help. Edit: Okay I know now. I would not recommend using this program especially if you are in a domain environment with trusts setup between servers. If you are running multiple servers use hardware for keyboard and mouse emulation.
We also run the same Terminal Server setup. As you know there are a lot of things that can cause of access. Did you check your event logs to see what the server recorded at the time of WAN loss? Can you tell me what you are using multiplicity to do?
An added question - are you connecting via VPN (pix-to-pix)by chance? I am not sure of the architecture of multiplicity but I will do some research to see if I can help.
When running CursorXP I have noticed it is using a high percentage of CPU processes up to 40% at times. Any ideas on why this is happening? It doesn't do it all the time but particularly when I change a windowblind. Of course it could also be a Vista Ultimate thing since that is what I am running. Running Core Duo 2 2.2G 2G Ram Nvidia M140 256M Video Memory Any thoughts?
Last thing I'd want to do would be fight crowds for a dubious saving on stuff I probably don't really need....
But those are the best things to buy!
I did it one time in my life...never...never...never again! But at least I can mark that item off the list of the things I did before I died.
Starkers - this is my last post on this subject due to the fact that this is clearly an emotional battle - which are never won. There is a saying regarding war. "In war the first casualty is truth." I could sit here and type for hours regarding the justification or injustice of war and I would not sway any opinions. I have my opinions as does everyone else. On this point - I will leave you with this - there is information to support all sides of this argument - t
Well ZubaZ - what a fine job you did there - very nice!
I wish I knew as much now as I thought I did when I was 17 - 21. Life would so much better.
Oh my - now that is true wisdom. Somehow between the time I was 18 and 25 my dad sure learned a lot!
THAT'S what I couldn't dig outta my brain. A PUB sign. I got it now. Back to the drawing board! Thanks, rickalot! (Nice helmet, btw!)
Yep - you are on target! You are very good at this - very impressed!
Joe - credit given - I think you did a great job of framing a number of the imperatives involved. I would expect that you could list the true problems we face - and as has been said - a problem well stated is half solved. Keep working on the answers - save you up some money - and throw your hat in the ring to make a difference, who knows I might just be your biggest supporter!!! All the best my friend!
Well everyone I must run - thank you for the brisk discussion - Joe - hang in there - you and all the others have a right to your opinions and should continue to voice them - I for one fought for our right to do so, without hesitation, so do me a favor and use it as well as your right to vote when the time comes. I so wish there were answers that would resolve the sad issues that we and our children must face in our world. I say this - if someone comes along that has these ans
I am not going to address all of your points - and I am not in disagreement with most of your approach I would just like to add my opinion based on real experience for us to ponder.
Listen to Powell, and hit them with a tidal wave that permits no insurgent to raise a gun.
Have you ever eperienced a B-52 bombing run or a 130 Gunship opening up - your analogy is on point - a tidal wave. That is what we did and much more - the problem is to think you can full
The troops don't have to validate the reason for being there.
When you have bullets from an AK-47 flying past your head by someone hiding behind a child I must disagree with you - the soldiers involved do go through a process of validation - they are not robots they are humans - and with the firepower you hold in your hands and the destruction it causes with sometimes unintended consequences you better know why you are there. All soldiers are treated as robots wh
You assume I am huffy and I am not. You did not however answer my question.
My first comment is snippy, sorry: Are you in the oil lobby?
No I am not - why would you ask such a question to my post?
Oh, and there's a huge difference between showing support for the troops who are merely carrying out politicians orders, and support for the warmongering arsehole(s) who send them there.
Again I say - how can you possibly know the things you "believe" are factual sitting where you are. Where has your information come from? And a simple question to all of you - you have defined what you don't want - tell me what you do want and what you would do - if your answer
Snarph - I had someone ask me once if I made a conscience decision to be happy when I get up in the morning or do I just leave it to chance and "the world" to decide for me. Really got me thinking - there is a deep point in this question - one that I do think about - if I don't make that decision for myself then I really am giving that choice up to everyone and everything "out there" and I have no right to complain. Thing is - life is out there and will throw at us things we
Killajosh - "upgrading my girlfriend." Wow - hope she doesn't have an account on here! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
Now that if funny Jafo!!
