While I completely understand and agree with Stardock's policy of providing patches for people with a serial, I do see the rather hairy problem that sometimes they're loathe to admit. Pawning off that when buying a boxed copy all you should expect to get is a disc and cardboard seems rather silly. Think back to every boxed copy of a PC game you've ever bought. Did you ever legitimately believe when you brought it home from the store that you would not have access to patche

Been busy irl, will go ahead and find the right save file and send it off. Edit: Alright, it's been sent off. Couldn't get the problem to reoccur in my original game for whatever reason, but creating a new one allowed me to immediately reproduce it.

Started a new game with the most recent update. I have a tiny fleet comprising one Akkan and two Cobalts. If I give a move order in-system and then proceed to order them to instead jump to another system, the Akkan will behave normally and change its trajectory to head for the jump point and leave the system. The Cobalts will not until they have completed their in-system move order first. They are in a fleet with group jumping enabled. I will attach a replay if

Make sure the modname path is gone from your settings file. If it's still there, you'll still lock up as it tries to auto-load a mod that doesn't exist. At least I think so from my own experience with the black screen. But as I believe the settings file would have been wiped during your reinstall, Annatar's probably got your best bet right there.

True. Myself, I'm too scared to go install the game again and install the various tweaks to the SoA and ToB bosses to bring them up to their original planned difficulties that pretty much were set at the level to inflict physical pain on the player trying to win. One of these days I'll do it. Someday.
is a very linear quest path
This would be where you misunderstood what I wrote. I'm talking about the fight. You can kill him using all sorts of tactics and parties. As for Rings of the Ram and laying down a hundred traps before the fight, boo. I prefer the legitimate methods of kicking his ass. [e digicons]}:)[/e]

The tooltip text makes it sound like that TEC mines will damage your own units, but from my very limited play time, that seems to be completely untrue. The text is something about how it will damage all units in its explosion radius.

Anyone know why this has 2 ranks? After the first rank, all my hangars were upgraded graphically and with text indicating they had 40 DPS autocannons. After the second rank, nothing changed at all. Is it possibly a range extension that I'm not seeing because of a lack of purple range circles around them? More descriptive text about the research on the tree would be useful I think. As it stands, it's almost blank.

Bink is used for video playback I believe. Other than checking to see if you have binkw32.dll on your system, I don't know what to advise.

Eh, a scout could detect ambient radio waves that were strong enough to disrupt communications. If you're wondering what both new abilities do: Industrial Wasteland hampers culture spread but increases both metal and crystal extraction. Signal Interference is just negative as it further slows culture spread. Now, that could be very useful defensively in some cases I'm sure.

I didn't catch when it occurred but it was just recently. I was almost completely broke spending everything on mines and defenses and then I glanced at the top right and I had 10k credits and 2k each of metal and crystal. Here are the save files: http://www.mediafire.com/?r5oiynjjnz2 Better yet, I finally found the right auto-replay: http://www.mediafire.com/?ytymg5nwjdm I was watching at x8 speed, but it appears to occur somewhere around the 36-min

Wow, I'm loving the mine mechanics. Haven't had a chance to see them detonate yet, but no tactical slots, 1000 credits, 250 metal and 100 crystal get you 10 mines placed randomly in a small circle where you click. TEC ones are listed as doing 1200 damage each. [e digicons]:O[/e] Edit: Correction, I have now very much seen them explode. Two assailants made the mistake of jumping in. Two mine explosions later, and they were space dust.

I don't think anyone will mind and in fact I'm sure the worker drones would love to be able to hear more details about what others are experiencing as they toil away watching the clock move so slowly as to almost start ticking backwards. I mainly just didn't post details about it as I've only played a few minutes and am at a loss as to what exactly to even comment on, heh.
but as long as auto load is off it should be fine, no?
Surely. I just wasn't

I don't recall reading about any planned change to planet exploration in Entrenchment, so figured I'd post something odd I'm seeing a few minutes into play. Both an ice planet and an asteroid have fully revealed benefits and disadvantages such as Porous Core, Industrial Wasteland, and Signal Interference. I've sent a scout through both systems of course or else I wouldn't know about the planets at all, but don't these planetary extras usually require resources spent on exploration

*recovers from Annatar's usual brute force and meanness* [e digicons]:P[/e] Word of warning to folks with installed mods. If it's not in one of these countless Entrenchment threads, make sure you remove the mod before trying to launch Entrenchment. The auto-load settings for mods were causing me to go to a permanent black screen when running it. I deleted the data inside the Mods folder and removed the modname line from my user settings file and it opened righ
