BTW, IS THERE a way to remove the icons in the command bar? Or is that some kind of Win7 only feature?
There probably is a way, but it will involve editing a UIfile in a .EXE or .DLL file and I really haven't tried it in Vista so I really don't know for sure. I do know you can remove the help icon(if you want to remove that also), but don't remember what file it is in seeing I haven't had Vi

Windows 7 isn't any better, the only way to get just about everything skinned is to hack a bunch of resources and use an app called "Windows Style Builder"(in which I have) it to has some limitations, but not as many as Skinstudio does! Most of the limitations in WSB ( mainly font color) that I have run into are not the fault of the app, but are hard coded in the OS itself.
Sheesh, people complaining about impulse being a resource [e digicons]:pig:[/e] when it doesn't even need to stay running is quite amusing. [e digicons][/e] I might as well complain about photoshop being a [e digicons]:pig:[/e] then seeing it is using over half my ram, but I won't!
Looks good vStyler. [e digicons][/e]
A variation on color:
How's this: I see it could use some cleaning up along the edges, just something I threw together pretty quickly and was all done in photoshop.
Holy crap!! What an eye opener, Thanks for sharing DrJBHL!
The blue line is in Edit Explorer/IE Shell Parts >Edit Additional Vista and Seven Parts> Additional Explorer Sections> Left hand line and right hand line(for the line when Previewpane is open). As for the grey line don't know , but will try to hunt down for ya.
I'll see what I can come up with! [e digicons];)[/e]
Been using Snagit for quite some time, it's a great screen capture utility.
Any particular size you want it to be?
Finish that skin!!!!!!
Ya,ya,ya.... working on it right now. I have free time now that my bathroom and kitchen is done, and only 1 more exam to take to get my Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator certification.( then on to my Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer cert).
Dang, did I miss a free sub again? If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all! I plan to stay around for awhile!!
I am still here, even with the little bickering( makes it a little entertaining)! WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG? [e digicons]:-"[/e]
Here mentally, but not physically.
Microsoft Security Essentials and a hardware firewall.
Love it, but a Biatch to skin!!!!!!
I agree, it's so much easier to change the OS through windowblinds and skinstudio than hacking the .msstyle, explorer .exe, shell32.dll and shellstyle.dll and others which is way more time consuming even with an app called Windows Style Builder.( only positive thing about resource hacking is you can skin every nook and cranny in which is not possible with WB and SKS).
Glad to see you got it sorted out, but you may have replaced the necessary .dll's and exe except that most of the images you were trying to change back can be found in the .msstyle (by the looks of your screenshot was modified)...
ohh great, where is the download address ?
Use Impulse to get the updates.
The only thing I can think of is replacing the aero.msstyle to an original one, the scroll bars, taskbar, infopane and button images all reside in the msstyle. The side bar image in the control panel is in the shell32.dll, so don't know why it didn't change when you changed files... Don't forget you need full control over the files you are trying to replace, I use a program called<a href="http://www.winmatrix.com/forums/index.php?/topic/13145-rel-take-control-b2/" target="_blan
