Should these give more population or some other bonuses to make them worth the building opportunity cost? They don't require any food or research.
Currently, a city with refugee camp, garden, and house can hit level 3 without anything else. No research needed, so you can go spend your research somewhere else (like warfare). I'd almost consider it a short-term resource, in that you settle next to them if yo

The front half of the tabletop game's rulebook is completely dedicated to fluff - and awesome art. I would read that for a primer on the mythos and then read the books. This is probably not the cheap option though - if you've got friends who play tabletop WH40K, you could probably bum the rulebook from them to read the fluff.
onlive requires a dual core processor which is funny since it is supposed to replace gaming pc's but dual core pc's can play all the games anyway so how much of the computing is really done online
They appear to be switching one graphics load (game) for another (HD Decompression) - hence the CPU requirement. That said, they did get it working on an ipad, which is a formfactor significantly cheaper than most PCs designed with gaming in mind.
When the iPad (or similar device) can play games, then I might consider it. I don't mean flash games, or browser games, or stuff like that, I want Sins, Elemental, Dragon Age, etc.
If Onlive manages to be successful, that day may be just around the corner. Provided you don't find their business model too onerous. Borderlands on an iPad (Youtube)
Another path we could take is with noble titles. You could elect a champion as a lord, duke or baron of a city. In addition, buildings might allow their own noble titles, like building a Royal Treasury would allow the player to elect an Exchequer, for example. These lords might soon have their own families and have their own motivations. That'd be cool.
Medieval: Total War (The first one) and Shogun both had titles which were granted to characters (Royals and Generals)
Hammers? What is this hammers business you speak of?
Shields is the older term, but I think CIV IV has been out long enough we can talk about hammers instead :P. Original comment was split between (CIV) and (Elemental), sorry for the confusion...
forge in a low-production city
Incidentally those forges provide +25% hammers for whipped population so sometimes they're even more useful for low hammer cities... But yes, there's not much thinking going on in what buildings I build, though I have been giving some thought to the order in which I build them. Resources available is my primary limiter in the early game, but once I've broken out of the early game and have a few cities going (2 - 3), it really
Frogboy said the first beta 2 had an over abundance of iron, it's possible this version has the opposite problem.
In Civ there was a small flashing message that said "Press Enter or click to end the turn" or something like that. It is a great indication that there are no more movement left. I'd like to see something like this in Elemental. Or maybe the end turn button glows or something. It's been a while but I don't remember what GalCiv 2 did to indicate it there were no more units to move and to click end of turn button.
The actual end-turn button also changed colors and sta

What's the point of having bizarre tattoos all over your sovereign if the helm and armor cover them up after the first few turns? Debug is at \Documents\My Games\Elemental If you've played another game since then, I'm pretty sure you've flushed the debug file.

I would prefer that things be WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get), but can see why folk want their sovereigns and champions to look special. Suggestion: have special armor assets that are used for Sovereigns and Champions versus the normal armor assets used for the mere mortal chumps.
Quoting Sareln, reply 19 + On Level Up, player gets 1 point (not 10) with leveling up incrementing a trait typically by 1. All traits except move increment by 1/point. Move increments by 0.2/point. Wow thats gonna seriously slow the game to a crawl, and make tracking a even higher must have trait. I really have to agree with some earlier posters that the Sovereigns base speed should be 2. 1 is just to
