One cannot, but getting to wear Chainmail is really easy (2 skills as warrior, immidiatly as defender, reasonably possible as assasin iirc) in comparison to getting to wear platemail (which is really way down the skill trees). Since the metal/protection ratio stayed roughly the same otherwise, I figure plate could use somewhat of a buff. It perhaps not that major because troops basically dont care that much about what you equip them with.

Greetings, with the newest patch, commanders now need to spend a lot of levelups in order to be able of wearing plate armour. This raises the question wether master worked chainmail isnt much better (due to being free) and light plate being much worse because your commanders wont be able to wear it much. Since the pick is free i have a somewhat hard time not choosing it.
I did suggest a racial "fast cooldown for units" trait somewhere else. But yes, one rarely sees the cooldown for attacks (which have at least 5 turns) completed, which partly plays into the "everyone is a glass cannon" thing.
Hi, I wish to offer some possible train/skill suggestions: 1: As a race, one could perhaps add a "lessened cooldown on all special actions" feature, meaning that an Axeman of that race gets to cleave every 3, not every 5 turns. 2: Pikewalls: If an enemy is in front of you, and a friendly pike/long spear unit is behind you, you get a swarm bonus for that pike/Spear unit. One should add that the supporting pike unit may not also give a regul
Actually, some mechanism for auxillary attacks could be a most excellent thing, as it would also make same spot retinues for heroes moddable. To be somewhat more balanced, a dude on a warhorse could first land his own attack, and then his horses attack. Example: Sir Smashsalot the Gilden Sovereign on his trusted warhorse attacks a bunch of darkling warriors. Sir Smashalot first hits with his hammer (attack of 14), doing 11 damage vs the darklings 3 defence. Now
Perhaps one could also add city quests (random?) that require having a gouvernor, ideally with adminstrative traits, in the city. Like: Giant spider cave discovered! If you have no admin, you fight it or leave it alone, if you have admin you try to tame them (unit type) or exploit them for silk (gildar) etc.
This is a dumb question I am afraid, but I have bought Fallen enchantress legendary heroes on Steam, is there any way for me to get the yet unreleased 0.80 beta? Would it be feasable to add unreleased betaversion as "DLCs" on steam?
Actually, it could also be a semi-realistic implementation of pavise crossbows, which were quite a thing historically.
Personally, I think the XP split is nice enough, but it appears that a) --Most things not give a lot of XP in the first place and b) --Tough Monsters give a lot less XP than they used to Is a bit too much. I also second the extra skill thing for heroes, as well as perhaps lowering shop based item prices for heroes. A set of chain mail armour should not cost your empires entire treasury, especially if you have the resources
