The sea, and mount combat has been talked about, and to my knowledge has not been ruled out. However, most likely if it will be implemented, it will be implemented later on, or in a very basic way for the games launch.

As Far as Chaos winning, it sucked that the guy gets all pumped up for nothing, but good doesn't always prevail. My main concern isnt too much about the classes, but how will everything be integrated and will the combat model be any good. I want to see an MMORPG that finally has a good system. THe belly jabbs and knee kicks are great and all but I dont want my BIG ARSE ORKY THING to knee some human in the gut and then see a high elf to the same move, do the same damage and it is calle
Sorry for the post I gave in response Schem, I was sleepy and not paying attention. Anywho, what I was asking was which style of resource collection are they planning on using. The typical one, or a more realistic and( given the contexted of the game) fitting way of convoys. Back before they took the pics of the ships away, I thought i had seen a picture of a Vasarri transport, and the cruisers fo the TEC are modifications of Transport Hulls, so they already have the
It can be done the way I want and still have good everything, but it is just a quextion so whatever.
You idea of a cargo depot was similar to a question I had, posted it in the wrong format though it probably got over looked. I was wondering if the resource collection was going ot be similar to that of just about every game that has it( invisible resources), or will it be Physical resources? This means if once a resource is collected, will it jsut be a number to indicate how much a given player has of that resource or will it still be something physically in the world? <br
He is a "witch hunter" in the "Empire" section of "armies of war." It looks like a game that will be everything World of Warcraft should have been. Plus the material from teh Warhammer Universe has been around for many, many, more years then the first Warcraft Game came out. When you look at Warhammer and WarCraft side by side you can see where WarCraft got some of the ideas for its games. The best thing about this game though, is that you wont feel like a clone if you and an
If posible, plz ask(when adressing a screenshot of a gameplay element) if the elements in the shot are completed, place holders, or a work in progress; before you start ripping on something based on what it looks like. This is still before the beta has come up. I would like to ask if that is an typical planetary system( in terms of planet number & type, asteroid belts, etc.) or are most systems bigger/smaller or something like that?
I do agree on the concept of infinite harvesting places, which are undepleteable (harvesting might slow after a while, but shouldn't stop) nothing is more annoying then players who are incapable of killing eachother due to resource lack and defences. The only part I disagree with is "Defenses" I love them. It is always a nice feeling when an enemy fleet attacks me and loses to my defenses before ever engaging my main fleet. now defenses showd be able
What I want to be when I grow up ^
meh, I dont like thsoe either.
He likes to drive interdimensional bubble cars?
Lharrs for Sars?
I've realized, that if a post is more than 4 sentences long, I don't have the desire to read it... Sucks to be you. Anywho, As I have asked before, please post where you(schem) are getting this info. You see very definate about most of what is going on, my "genius" posts or what not are only made when I have i
I will try to stop posting on stuff here, I am getting way outside my space of fact, I am not very good at hypothisizing. Once the beta comes out, and i have played it for a while I will begin to make whitty comments, at least I hope I will.
I like bubbles thy are fun.
One thing I thought of that may be part of my misunderstanding, are the resources going to be physical ones or will they be numbers on a sheet? What I mean, is in every RTS I have played with a very few exceptions, once a resource is harvested/mined/what-have-you, it is no longer in the game other then in number. If the devs allow for raiding of a resource, they have the ability be that when an enemy players hits your hut or whatever, it pulls "X" quantity of that resource from your st
Most of the stuff was confusing but I think I got some. Keep in mind, I am not familiar at all with previous Stardock games, so I can't guesstimate based on their previous works. Also, please cite if possible where you are getting your info, beccause I know I have not seen it anywhere. I did make a mistake before saying that there are 4 resources and lumping them together. It is 3 production resources and 1 that everyone uses which is credits. If what you said was true, with
Some one deserves another ego-smashing Nah, if you do that his, he might stop making unintellegent comments. When that happens we will ahve no one to laugh at and call or mascott. I think we should leave him as is
maybe you'll get the swirling ship of doom named after you... Or perhaps just a swirlly?
I knew that you would say something about my "1)" thing, I know all that, was trying to cut down on my length. but dont forget, there are offensive counter messures(sp) to your defensive. It all depends on whom has the best stuff. LAter with that though. As far as me being monopolized, my point in that was that I couldnt be monopolized. All the resources for my empire was produced by my planets. I had tons of cash, and I could out produce the enemy even with my smaller Imperial size. The
I have already forgotten what I wrote in the last post, so here is my revised view. If these are true: 1) 1-2 generated resources per planet. 2) 3 unigue resources and one generic(credits) 3) many planets in which to colonize. then a market monopolization is not possible, at least the way I believe you( and admittedly I) would wish it to be. Least take the 50 planets for a 5 person game. If that is the case, then 10 planets per player. Each planet has a 2 in 3
Well, reading(kinda, brain is shutting down) what you've put down was interesting in a way. A lot of waht you said is circumstantial, and most of what I said left a lot of room for some one to poke holes. I think we are thinking of some this in different ways. Most of what I say is based on the way I look at game design and how I would make a game. Seeing as I dont have a copy of this game or a beta to mess with I cant give accurate info. Perhaps part of the problem with thi
A few things I noticed. A need for formations - Unfortunatly most formations in space are unrealistic. Two reasons for this. 1) Real space being vast and the like. Once two races get to the point when they would fight, they would have weapons with such range that formations would mean neraly nothing. First would be Smart weps. then guided weps. then instant hit weps., and if anyone is left massed unguided AP and Explo. weps. 2) The action(unrealistic) favored approach. The d
OK, I will first say I am sorry. I did not make a lengthy post and as a result Schem was able to give me a viable rebutle. First up, I have not been on the forums as long as most of you, therefore, I may post things that are not what is in the game that you all know about but only because they were posted 3 months ago or something. With that said, here it is. Pertaining to Manipulating a market, there is supply and demand as you all know. To manipulate/monopolize the supply
When I can lower my intellegence enough to be on your level, I will make my response. Don't hold your breathe though. Well, go for it if you wish.
