1. Make the AI research "Alliance" MUCH faster or make the ability to have alliances with someone not require a tech 2. Fixing the Tech-Trees 3. Fix the Asscension starbase bug (sometimes after the starbases are destroyed, sold or whatever the former owning civ still gets asscension-points 4. Make the 3 sliders independant (Why should the people on my all-lab planet stop working just because the people on my all industry-planet are working at 100%?) OR leave the 3

Happend to me too while I was playing TA... no declaration of war and next turn... BOOOOOOM all my 4 asscension starbases and many ships were lost.
PLEASE implent the option to enable/disable the trade of rece-techs in the normal window. I think it would be very interesting and should be accesable by everyone, not just by people who can mod. And it's important too that it's playable in the metaverse if editing the tech files would give a cheat flag and I thin it would.
(Well, I'm playing TA but the problem should be there in DA too) Several times I set tech trading to off what resulted in the AIs not researching the "Alliance" tech. Are there any tweaks to make them research the tech? My oppinion is that it would be best if there was no tech restriction to form an alliance with someone.
For me too. XP SP2 Dualcore PC
Hi, I should place my mods here: C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods Well... but this folder does not exist. Like the thread-title says I'm using a german windows xp. The only folder existing is (translated into english): C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire So the folder is at the wrong place and the "mods" folder dies not exist. When I simply create the mods folder the m
I think "hard" is too easy just now and I hate cheating AIs, so the suggestings in the first post are very good to improove the AI in my eyes.
Ah ok thanks I found it and tested it. I think it affects Sins and gives it a little better look, not a giant difference but it's worth a try if your pc can handle it.
How do you change it, if not in-game?
-Ship boarding/capture -Troop transports for ground invasions instead of just bombing everything would be my favourites, but all listed things would be nice. ^^
I'd like PJI's which unables enemys to jump anywhere, so it's a do or die. If you don't want to fight, just let a scout fly first, when you see that there is an PJI just don't jump in when you don't want to be forced to stay there until it is destroyed. Edit: The ships which unable enemys to jump in a specific range are an even better way I think.
I think there is a much better way than just lowering it. The upkeep should not be based on what your max fleet capacity is, but be based on how much fleetpoints your fleet realy consumes at just this moment. So the upkeep should be varying and not be a stable percentage which never can be lowered once research is done.
The idea of such a coalition is great. It's completely logical and interesting as a game mechanic.
I was hoping that, when you said roleplaying, you meant actually roleplaying the races. For instance not just going to war for no reason, but because they sent their ships into something you regard as 'sacred ground' or something.
That would be roleplying you won't need any mods for. ^^
A roleplaying mod would be very interresting for me too. But I woul'd not be sure, that it's possible to set one player as a "god" who can do anything he wants, like putting ships enywhere, take them away and so on. And that would request you to play multiplayer and find others who want to play exactly this mod at this time... so a singleplayer version would be better, where it's like "storybased" and you get ships for fullfilling tasks and maybe sometimes have just a fleet and no planet and so
As far as I know, when you buy/pre-order anything at totalgaming/stardock-central it will be bound to your account, so you will be able to buy everything just once per account.
Ah ok, thanks for the both descriptions.
Call me an idiot, but what exactly means 4X?
Ah thanks for your very fast replies. I just bought the Total Gaming Membership and with the Tokens I bought the game because I think you will release some more great games/expansions in the future so the Membership is a good investment for the future(to buy the future games). ^^
Is there realy no opportunity to pre-order Sins of a Solar Empire via pay pal? I used pay pal to pre-order Galactic Civilizations 2: Twilight of the Arnor without any problems and so I'm wondering.
I think it makes total sense... Why would any alien race sit idle while their subjects are being seduced into rebellion by another culture?
I didn't mean that it's sensless and unlogical. I just thought it would make it impossible to win with your influence. But now I played guided by the advices and thought about it and today I won with a diplomatic win, shortly before I would have won with my influence. ^^
Aye, the influence victory still has the strings attached of a conquest victory that you need a navy to keep people sedated from shooting at you.
Well what's the sence of influence then? Invading planets is never a problem for me, the problem is just to destroy the ships, which I need to destroy in all cases because if i try to conquer them with my influence they attack me and I have to defense against these ships and if I try to
Hi, I played on Challenging/Bright and wanted to conquer my enemies with a gigantic influence. I played human with some boosted abbilities at my diplomatic and my influence skills. I build an influence starbase near the planets of an opponent but then it says "We know what you are doing" in the "stats" screen and they talked to me, saying that they are wanting me to tear the starbase down. After some more turns they declared war and were superior. So how should I conquer someone with my infl
