... though graphics are the least of my interests relative to this game. =D
Amen to that. I played Star Wars Rebellion for so long. It had really basic graphics. A good game doesn't absolutly need nice graphics. Many companies try to hide a bad game behind beautiful graphics and this behavior sucks! I really love also the art style. That's really interesting and one of the reason behind this is great (old computers b

ah ok, I thought you could be from QC. Yeah I know about the learning game... My 2 other friends will read the rules also before, that should help a little. And yes, actually, it's quite simple and I was surprised of that. I own War of the Ring and I found it much more complicated, especially when you play 2-3 games in a row (holidays) and wait 1 year to play it again hehe. Karma +1 for everybody who answered my original post!

Ok thanks for the clarification! I wanted to go over the rules a second time before my first game, but with your explanations, I'll take a closer look when I read. Hey vieuxchat, with the nickname you have, I presume you speak french? Where are you from?

oh, I do have one question about the rules. I know, I should probably start a thread at Fantasy Flight Games, but it's already started here :) For Command Counters, how do you get some each turn and when? I understand from the rules that it's coming from you Planets Influence, but I'm not sure when to collect. I don't recall the name of it, but is it during the last Phase of a round where you reactivate (unexhaust) your planets? Keep in mind that I haven't played a game so far

I posted on boardgamegeeks.com and got a lot of answers telling me that the game is a incredible at 3 players, and a BLAST with more. Just like poker I think... It's fun with 3 people, it's awesome with 6-10 people. Also, the seller (gamer) where we bought the game (specialized store) had StarCraft and TI to sell, StarCraft being more expansive. We talked a lot with him and decided to go with TI because that's our game style. I finished reading the rules yesterday and <st

yeah, the problem I have is that we are only three to love those games. I have other friends that like this also, but they live 2h from us, so it's hard. You mean, Age of Empire the game?

thanks for the replies guys. I know that kind of games take forever to setup. I own Axis&Allies and The War of the Ring. We generally are 3 to play together, so playing Axis or WotR is not the best because it's always 2 against 1. That's why I'm looking at Twilight Imperium... because this game is free-for-all right? Thanks again.

Hi, I'm planning on buying this boardgame really soon. I've had it in my mind for quite some time and I'm decided now :) I'm currently reading the rules on their website, and I'm starting to see some similarity between this and GalCiv2. Anyway, any of you have tried this board game? Is it good? Is it worth it? Thanks in advance for your input.

hum, before posting my previous, I didn't see there were 2 pages of post :) Maybe lame question, but where can we get those ships?

I haven't verified the wonderful list you posted BradenK, but here are my all-time favorites: 1- Falcon (boring I know hehe) [mod. YT-1300] 2- Outrider (Dash Rendar's ship -> Shadows of the Empire) [YT-2400] 3- Tie Interceptor (slick design) 4- X-Wing (the good old starfighter) 5- Lambda-Class shuttles (another very nice design) You probably know that, but a very good but limited place to look for ships and stats is in SW Rebellion (the databank in the game). It was indeed a great game. It was great to duel your friends in lightsaber combats. Also, in my opinion, I would like to add that the whole Dark Forces serie was a success: - Dark Forces 1 - Dark Forces 2 (or Jedi Knight 1) - Jedi Knight - Mysteries of the Sith - Jedi Knight 2 - Jedi Outcast - Jedi Knight 3 - Jedi Academy For those titles, combined with the X-Wing serie and SW Rebellion, LucasArts were on top of the art from my perspective. Now they slippe

Fortunatly, many games have demos. I'm more than happy to buy a game that deserves my well-earned money. Like you said, piracy has nothing to do with the subject I think.
The hardware requirements are a symptom, not the cause. The cause is that people are stupid and/or lazy. If they had the IQ to find out what the best price/performance computerparts are (which is very easy, just go to your local hardwaresite and see what the sites staff recommends) and either learned to puzzle the computerparts together or asked someone that know how to do it then they will get monsterperformance cheap!Somebody said that the hardcore gamers bild their own rigs <-- duh!
Well, first the diplomacy in Sins is terrible, and second there are diplomacy models in a number of RTS's. The one that readily comes to mind is Rise of Nations. Anyway, it's simply important for people to know, IMO, that this IS an RTS. It owes a lot to Total Annihilation, a lot to Homeworld, and at best a tiny amount to anything turn based. People that don't enjoy RTS games are going to be disappointed, especially if they come in expecting something with the depth of a turn based game.
GC2 won't be getting multiplayer. Aside from patches, TA is pretty much the end of the road for it. GC3 will most very likely be based on the fantasy game's engine, though.
Thanks Kryo. Doesn't really matters actually. I currently have 0 time to play multiplayer games (and single player) and you will probably be releasing GC3 before I get some hehe. Anyway, this is great news (the GalCiv3 thing).

This sounds like the best of worlds: 1- People who don't want Stardock to focus on

This Interdictor idea has been discussed many many times in the BETAs. You will find this out by doing a search of the forums. The first versions of the Phase-Jump Inhibitor prevented ships to jump to planets you possessed. Now it's a engine-charging delay. That being said, I would increment that delay produced by the Inhibitors and the Vasari cap ship.
i still doubt stardock would look favorably on someone installing there game on a bunch of friends computers which obviously means loss of sales and its pretty much piracy imo. please dont take advantage of stardocks good nature of them not using copy protection for single player and lan games. i feel its worth the money and i would hope you and your friends do to
I don't think it's piracy. First, Stardock has chosen to not protect their CD you know why? Because
