Its called a search function ;) And you are concentrating on z-axis movement tooo much. Play a bit online, and I kid you not, you will notice that moving your ships individually will not only be a game killer, but also a waste of your time and the cause of your eventual death. :P

The fleet AI is begining to use the Z-axis on its own. With the new patch, and a hopefully updated fleet AI, I think the fleets will manage fairly well on their own.

Certain things, like the Cannon and the Advent will be only in the final, but we still get some goodies of our own :D
