O yes if the AI goes for the factory techs to early(in most cases they do) then their whole economy stalls like crazy dont know how it would effect population though.
The game will be large in scale but i hear that you can set prefrances for the commander of the fleet to target certain ships over others and to try to protect the less expandable ships in your fleet. But i agree there would be no point in winning that one battle and taking so much time, cause you still have a war to fight.
If this nations has plenty of taxes than why is this government in 6 trillion dollars in debt, plus its citizens are greatly suffering from poverty and economic instability(at least currently). And please dont go calling people stupid... it will take you to a place where no one will listen to you, i mean if he said something you dont agree with dont go calling him stupid just say i dont agree and state you reasons. I have had no problems as of yet although they are suffering very badly moral wise and seem to research to much into farm techs and in my games overpopulate their planets so much that their moral is too low to tax much(economic problems) and leads to me being able to flip planets very easily.

Yea.. the computer has something like this implemented already, they do see the cultural borders as a type of "borders" so if you try to amass fleets by it it will do the same, which lead to a "cold war" kind of thing.
And if the star is say a certain color.. like red, meaning its old and is very big and.. old, then it might have a chance to creat a black hole that will keep growing larger and larger and starting to suck things in and there will be like a radius to how big it can become, but it should be pretty big.

Lol nicely said.. I myself view both the parties as idiotic contraptions of bussinessmen and lawers who are lying to the public for personal gain and stealing good ideas from lesser parties that dont have enough money to advertise. And when they cant get new ideas, they just bash the "supposed" ideas of the person running against them.

I was about to ask the same question, i would just leave it for an emeny to colonize so it will just be a drain on their resources, unless ofcourse i can be improved through the terreforming techs.

I would convert your startegy based on what planets and resources you have at your disposal. If you have a lot of military and econ resources conquest is your game since you will be able to sustain a large army, if you have nice pq planets and good research bonuses maybe the middle path of research and war, if you have a few influence and you get ahead in diplo techs start culture bombing. With anything but conquest i recomend researching weapons/engines every 2 - 3 other techs just to stay in t

Usually the star system they are in is close to some very prestine and high PQ worlds(at least in my game), they could have easily colonized those worlds before anyone else but nope they just sit there, kinda depresing. I mean they could at least colonize the world in their own system which they still wont do.
Well dont they, i mean sure they will be divided on issues like abortion and taxes and the education system, but in the end they dont really run things diffrently i havent ever heard of any new acomplishment they have been able to achieve in the past 50 years that they didnt barrow from each other or others.
