I wouldnt doubt that a mod could cause crashing though it shouldnt be a common problem. You would think that it would happen a lot more often and that there would be more reports of that same mod causing problems. But the mod may be for entrenchment or soase only, not Diplomacy.
I use FF and the avatar uploaded fine for me. But on occasion i do have trouble posting. Another thought i had was to make sure that you have peer block off, if you use it.
Just a couple of odd thoughts. Try clearing your temporary files (disk clean up). Also did this happeppen before you patched the game? I had some freezing problems after i updated my game. Also, when ever you ask a technical question, be sure to post your system specs and operating system. Also note any new changes or installed programs that you have done recently.

In any game that you dont have "locked alliance", and you are not on the same team (team 1, 2 3, etc). When it is down to the last two (you and light green), then you become enemy. The game thinks that you want to dominate the whole galaxy when you start a game set up like this. If you were on the same team, but didn't have locked aliance, he would break all negotiations with you, but would not attack/declare war on you. Som
It sounds to me that your laptops screen resolution is set different then your in game resolution. I know that this it probably one of the first things that you checked, but it could be that you have always been running the wrong resolution on your lap top and have never known it. According to every thing i am finding, that resolution is for a 9" screen. What laptop are you using, and what size screen are you using?
This is something i have been trying to learn also. As i dont like to sacrifice my ships for a small bonus, then haveing to re deploy my ships back to there planet. The couple of things i do is when i get to the point where i have enough of an income, look and see what planet your aly is always attacking. You are correct. Trinity is just the game "soase" and the two epansions. This is the same as if you bought each individually. For them to launch sins, they need to start trinity, which opens soase, then there is an option to load the expansion that they want. So.. yes, you can play vs them since you both have diplomacy. The reason for trinity is that prior to this, entrenchment/diplomacy was only available as a download, not a hard copy.

Thanks you so much, and thank you for the quick replies! There it was the first option under "options". When i first set up the options and read through them all, i assumed that it ment to use the team colors i chose.
Im sure that this is a noob question but i searched and couldn't find the answer. When i play any sins or expansion vs AI in a skirmish ,i always set my enemy up as different colors and my team as different colors. I and my team show up as the colors as i chose , but the enemy and pirates always show up as red, making it hard to distinguish who i am fighting or who is on a planet. Am i doing something wrong, or is this how the game is set
