Indeed Seven was the best of the whole show. But my guess is that this is exactly why they brought her in. They were afraid that otherwise the show would be cancelled due to dropping rates prematurely.

Well, I guess if you ask 10 people about whether DS9 was good or crap you'll get 20 different opinions. I for one would say: Up until the end of the 3rd season it was the cream of the crap. Merely a soap opera in space. Later on it was still crappy enough at times, but overall it was improving a lot. With Brooks behaving more the way he was as Hawke in Spenser for hire.
