I watched today a trailer of BFBC2. Started checking whether there's a demo... frigging thing's ended already. And no SP demo. That's one lost customer. I loved original BF, i have BF43, that was pretty fun for a time being but didn't have enough maps. Well, maybe not quite lost... if i get to play the game somewhere. The problem is, "somewhere" is gonna be hard to find... friend's don't have, nor interested, shops i visit don't either have consoles for testing (you know, in f

I see. I have the say that the ground breaking additions sound nice but i'm not really a fan of battles with hundreds of units per side... that is, unless we're talking about Total War (Rome). Based on demo, i certainly didn't warm to the game... maybe with time, maybe not. Maybe i'm too much of a Starcraft (not-MP)player and i can't warm to it's rival (they're were rivals back then right?). Too bad, well, depending on point of view, i got in SC2 beta so i can't/won't bother w

Never really played Homeworld... tried the demo, or maybe the Cataclysm's demo once. Dunno. But i have HW2. It's... I don't play it much but i love it. Beatiful, very good music... maybe not the most balanced game and against AI it's pretty much making a mixed fleet and crushing them without any real strategy. Haven't played MP. Love the 3D space. SW Warlords mod was pretty funny.

OH MY GOD! I was reading the beta forum when i noticed: Beta Wave 2 has began or such. The poster said: No emails, just check the account. And i did. [Something incoherrent] What luck... i would have never expected to get in the beta. Opted in since it was a possibility... Partially i'm so excited (can be seen from OMG, i never really say that) because i'm tired and partially because i love Starcraft. Gotta invent a good name... See ya tomorrow maybe :P

Okay... what's so special in TA? Hear about it a lot, never "why" though. I downloaded the demo. ... I move around units that look identical and they shoot the enemies. I build some more units. The Commander has some sort super gun too and apparently it's peon unit too. And repeat. I've got no idea why i'm doing this (the story doesn't interest me at all). I have no idea what units do. Okay, they shoot different stuff but that's it pretty much. Sounds are horrible btw.

Okay... i'm VERY unimpressed. Actually, i'm very unimpressed with the whole Elemental world so far. Nothing that would put it above average fantasy. IMO. *shrug* as long as the game mechanics work and allow modding (adding skills, abilities, techs, features too, not just modifying existing stuff...). Maybe i shouldn't have pre-ordered the game but oh well.

Getting the computer back in a day would be nice but... I don't know a single repair shop in Helsinki. Though a Google search would probably solve that. And since it's still under warranty, taking the laptop to a repair shop sounds a bit stupid, how much do repairs even cost? An external drive is, at cheapest, roughly 50 euros. In the end, it might be best to take this laptop to be repaired, considering it has a small crack on side (cosmetic) and its screens lock is a bit dama

Hmm... i probably have to go to visit some shops morning in any case, should i pick up an external DVD drive while there? Easiest way, if costlies, right? Repairs would be free due warranty but that'd take too long probably :/ I don't understand how could the drive be faulty mechanically so that it does not read DVDs but CDs run just fine [e digicons]o_O[/e] Oh yes, one thing i wondered was that if Anti-Vir or some other program might be interfering with the dr

Yeah, it's under warranty. Problem is, i happen to need the computer, and i don't like idea of taking it to repairs, especially when i have no idea if the problem is a software or hardware one. If it's a software thing, i can fix it myself once i figure out what the problem might be (and naturally that's i'm asking help in very un-Finn way). I've got all the passwords, email, files and all that i need in this computer. And Elemental Beta (after i get around DLing the latest update). I

(Right forum?) OS: Win Vista Home Premium (SP1) 32 bit (OEM) PC: Asus F3K(something) laptop It appears that my laptop's DVD drive refuses to run DVDs* but runs CDs just fine. It sounds like it would try to begin to read the disc but stops right away. Obviously this is an annoyance when it comes to gaming. Windows claims the device is working properly, re-installing the driver after removing it doesn't help. Updating the driver doesn't help either as Windows can't find

Isn't the next AVP game just Aliens Vs. Predator? Not AvP3. More of a re-launch, yes? No matter. I don't know... I've never liked Aliens that much. That Aliens is scifi is pretty much only thing i like. AvP2 was fun game though, pretty immersive. And MP was fun, if the game didn't lag and the gametype was right. DM/TMD was boring. The new AVP looks good but what new it will offer gameplaywise? It looks like it's gonna have pretty much same multiplayer as AvP2, Aliens can run e

EDIT, is it just firefox 3 or this forum which causes my post to cut off and vanish? First run. I adjust some options (Graphics, resolution up to 1440x900, AA to 2x) Game starts. The cloth maps seems pretty blank, with leader being only object on it, i select the leader and press up arrow as i try to adjust camera. The screen starts wobbling up and down, going to menu causes the whole screen blink black and normal. Ctrl+Alt+Delete... Second run. Adjusting settings agai

My friend keeps talking about HOI3... so i gave the demo a try. Long loading times... tutorial is funny but doesn't give any real info and absolutely gives no idea how to actually play the game. So i start the demo scenario and... 19 frames per second. The game has absolutely no graphics, and even with water and trees turned off, no multisampling and low resolution, the maximun fps is 30 (minus empty water when 100% zoom where i get 60) and thats not even consistent, mostly it

Even studios that have made games before can be pretty much no-names yet they can easily make good games. EA on the other hand is well known... and makes bad games (not allways, just exageratting (sp?)). You bring a tear to my eye man! Bungie was massive before Halo, originally big with Marathon, but not that big, it blew people out

The combat system was a shitty joke How so? It didn't really differ much from Morrowind. Except you have fixed damage and strikes work a bit differently. But in the end, you still click mouse button or pull trigger and try to hit. At least it wasn't chance based like in Morrowind. I admit i don't like the way skill affects combat though. the magic system was atrocious You claim it was any better in Morrowind? At least you cast during melee... Magic sucks in TES 3 AND 4

I don't think Splinter Cells were dumbed down really... no matter the platform. MWReboot could really work on consoles easily. To simulate mechs, you need: heat, ponderous movement, locational damage, line of sight sensors (right?), ejecting, salvage, lightspeed lasers (not SW lasers o.O), mech customization, did i forget something... I don't see anything that consoles would really prevent. And controls are not a problem. 360 pad has enough buttons... and less needed stuff lik
