If Beta 1 doesn't have the magic system, how will we be able to create fertile land or whatever other basic functions are needed to play the game? By "magic system" do you mean just the sleek interface will be cut out, or that there simply won't be magic in the game?

CapnWinky, you shouldn't have to send an army to scout. Sending a specialized recon unit or a squad of grunts (hoping one of them will make it back) should be an option too.

Elemental will be a great success, but top 10? No freaking way. 2010 is looking to be full of some of the biggest heavy-hitting blockbusters of all time. Elemental could (and probably will) be top 10 quality, but not top 10 sales.

BFME battles were terrible and arcade-y. However, something like total war or the infinity engine games' combat systems is pretty good. Pause and issue orders, or just twitch through the whole thing for a truly intense experience.

Indeed, god bless. I'd happily look forward to seeing a steampunk mod of Elemental, but I really feel the canon game could do without that stuff.
