well... the difference of beta revision is not normal as an example I get this : Debug Message: Version v1.1 BETA 4 last updated on: Wed Apr 12 18:45:12 2006 I would suggest uninstalling the game, deleting the galciv2 folder completely and reinstalling, and updating the game again, if after that you still get that beta revision difference I would delete (after backup) the folder : My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2

unfortunately I don't understand all what "Supreme Shotgun" said some of the sentences proposed are just too obscure for me... like the reference to Alan Bradley or James Kona or the dog or Billie Jean how can that be a declaration of war ? please stardock don't make the game so complicated that we need too much culture to understand what the computer is trying to say to us although things like : "There Can Be Only One"

a beta software is a software that is currently undergoing testing though beta software is often not very buggy when compared to alpha it is still more subject to bugs, crashes, glitches, and new stuff currently in testing... beta testers, (that is people who use beta software) are expected to give detailed reports on the bugs, crashes, glitches, new features that are currently undergoing testing according to the change log<

don't forget that you can also have *free* moderators (that is : they are not paid, they are just reliable fans willing to help) most forums (even officials look at www.egosoft.com ) have moderators that are not here to answer questions but rather keep an eye on making the rules followed (such as : locking post answered in the faq or stickies, moving posts around in the right forum, merging threads talking about the same issue, deleting posts & t

+ AI much smarter about taking bribes. If you're weak or they really hate you, it takes a much MUCH bigger bribe to move relations back up. Moreover, how often you can bribe and get an effect has been increased (previously you could bribe them every few turns and maintain high relations in perpetuity). Now if you're bribing more

about AI tech trade, I think most AI should be very wary of giving/trading their tech (which seems to be the case in 1.1according to others reports) after all did countries trade nuclearpower amongst themselves ? though I think that some variety could be good ie one race or two might love to share techs (especially amongst good civ) what do you think ?

I happen to like the fact alot that the devs actually chat on thsese forums and respond to other people. Why would you complain about that? lol I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that the only people we see here on forums all have other jobs no one seems dedicated to maintaining this foru

good point Weidbrewer but one can't split himself everywhere at the same time that's why I think moderators are needed still for example the problem with regional settings could be updated in the original post to reflect new findings (and whether or not they finally have done a separate download for this problem available) edit: any comment on this is welcome

what I liked in MoM was that You were also someone that had magic powers that could be increased/improved over time that you were able to use magic to modify the map to your liking, that you were able to stack so many magic modifiers on a unit making it very likely to hold its own against anything but albeit very expensive... in fact you played like if you were god <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif"

First let me say I'm doing this in the hope that some of this is improved overtime because Stardock is an awesome company and I would like it to be perfect As you can see on joeuser Link or totalgaming website many things are accessible from other stardock related websites. Is it a bad or good thing ? I don't know, the forum seems to be rather a blog

I like to see a way that 's similar to Alpha Centauri, where you can bribe/convinced/intimadate other races to vote for the same cause in the up coming election. good idea ! could be further implemented with an election of some "ruler of UP" which also has a "VETO" or perhaps the "ruler of UP"
