Uhh.. it wouldn't make any logical sense for someone to be able to live on or near the sun. A race that is able to colonize the sun (either by placing stations directly in orbit or near the surface) would also be able to wipe out all known races.

I won't fluant that Linux is 'superior' I guess it for my router as I have a lot of computers in this household (four desktops, three laptops, a 360, ps2 and ps3 all connected to the network) It works great in that capacity, and while I also have it as a duel boot on this computer, I primarily use windows because it's a lot easier to use (I've been using windows since the days of 3.1) I don't know why people seem to think insulting one another will solve anything, in fact, it
Probably is, but to answer your question (which it seems you've obviously not bothered to actually inspect the ships you ran into) Each unowned planet has a militia that you must take out before you can colonize (well, you don't 'have' to but it is strongly recommended) Likewise, the AIs know how to play and even on easy they can be a challenge. In short, don't just sit back and think the AI is doing the same, you must push forward. A suggestion: when you first start o
As stated, make sure they are in the correct area. Ironically, sometimes even if they are in the correct they won't appear, again that's related to the undocumented bug. Fiddle around with the naming of your map and you should get it. Now onto my own problem, when the heck are they going to fix the invisble 'dead' planet bug (or so I call it) IE: You deleted a planet but according to the editor is still there and thus you can't create something in it's place without moving your mouse to
X2 - The Threat was a great game for it's time; and in fact, I still play it (along with X3) so yes, it is worth it. As for the campaign, I can't recall as I went freeform in mine. (The last I played the campaign was two years ago) X2 isn't exactly an easy game to play, it's learning curve is similiar to another space based game out there (that I won't name) but if your used to playing space based simulators then you shouldn't have to much of a problem getting into it ;)
The sooner I can translate the large amount of misspelling, misplaced sentence usage and pronunciation, in the OP, the sooner I can think up of a response. Seriously, if you're going to make a post use a dang blasted spell checker. It isn't that hard. Now, I had originally written a nice response to this, but felt it was useless against a WoW kiddie. Though, as a short version of my response: Don't go making threads about game mechanics that you clearly don't have a si
If your playing a map 'you' created then you need to add those phase lanes in manually in the editor. (the one you download) If not, then something either didn't load up correctly - you have the option to see phase lanes toggled off.
Hate to break it to you. But even a level ten capital won't last long against a large swarm of bombers, as I have done multiple times against level ten AI cap ships and even against some players (who promptly quit after lossing their ship - hey, not my fault they didn't have bomber/fighter protection) If the capital ship is up against frigates and cruisers then yes, it'll last and perhaps even a while against other capital ships. However, against a large bomber swarm, it'll mel
Umm.. I think you guys are missing a very important part here, something that may just derail this mod: Believe it or not, you DO need permission to use Bungie's ships, both from the game and from the books, in the mod. Even IF you created them from stratch, you are still using their likeness and names, not to mention you are also using a copyrighted title IN GENERAL. Their game, Halo, and all material related to it are copyrighted UNDER Bungie, meaning: You need their permissi
It's not a bad review because it didn't serve our purpose, it's a bad review because the mans facts aren't straight. This is exactly why I don't trust player reviews anymore; because most people make reviews out of impulse, some do it either because they hate the company, or because they hate the series.
Believe it or not, a lot of people tend to trust sites that very new and not popular, because either that site has what they like or the review is worded 'just' right to trick them into believing a game is crap, where in reality that game could very well very great and a top seller.
SinS isn't the only game that has this problem, another game known as Sword of the Stars (another great game in 'my' opinion) has this problem. Where if the player suddenly disconnects and it was allied with another player it'll suddenly break the alliance (unless teams are locked) However, SotS is different in that the AI's actually prefer to pick on the weakest link and will a lot of times allie with the most powerful player in the game. Though it isn't suppose to be common, it always
Ahh ok, no problem. I was curious if I had made the mistake or something, thanks for the reply ;)
Swezor, they are very much correct. You do need to ask for permission first before redistributing their work. Just like how if I was to ever release my balance for this game *I* would first respect it if someone 'asked' before including it in a mod pack. In fact, you pretty much should ask for anything that involves another person's mod. Even if that includs the models IN that mod, if you want to use them in your own mod then ask them. Or, like what I've done for X3 - Reunion, I asked t
Anyone else getting this problem?: Before 1.03, I had no problems running this mod in connection with the texture pack and Bailknights graphical pack. However, once I updated to 1.03, I noticed that when the mod is active I can't play any scenarios, constantly giving me an error sayig - String not found where the scenario should be. The game is fine whene the mod 'isn't active, and I even tried it without the two additional packs (Texture and Graphical) but the same t
I do agree that they said these things but unfortunately, I all I got to look at was the average Gamerankings score and the box. I was in Best Buy, the guy there told me he's read a lot of good things about the game, and then he showed me the gamerankings score. I wouldn't be so angry if I could transfer the game to someone. I'd probably sell it for $25 just so I'm not completely out of luck.
One of the problems is that you trusted Best Buy, in all my time going there and
Gameplay is 'not' less than 10 hours unless you speed through the game and don't enjoy it (like most gamers, some people these days don't want to enjoy the game they just want to finish it likety split) On my second game; which I didn't do any of the site quests, it still took me around twenty-thirty hours to beat (with side quests - forty hours or so) And thank god it's not a Vista only game :)
Choppstick. Just because the mods work fine 'on their own' doesn't mean they work with other mods in general. That's the first thing you learn about modding a game. Sometimes, salvaging parts from one mod and putting them into your own personel mod won't work because their might be something perventing it from operating properly. There might also be files that the parts you took 'need', it's also possible that the part you took is interconnected to the rest of mod in short: You
Wrong thread for that question Xeno. As for this thread... not that badly written though I do stress that the use of 'assignation' was wrong in both areas. Assignation means to 'meet' or assign to position. I think you meant to say 'Assassination' which means to kill in secret or suddenly. That's the only wrong use of a word that I saw in this story, just replace Assignation with Assassination and your set ;) Example: His eldest son, objecti
I'll never understand pre-ordering. I can't think of any good reason to do it. Wait til the game comes out. Buy it wherever it's cheap and available. How hard is that?
Because in some cases, preordering is cheaper than waiting for it to actually be released. Main reason why I order all my games (PC and Console) from amazon.com because most of the time they are $10 less :) SinS is the only game that I actually preordered from Stardock.
I know this topic is old, but this deals with the mod :P Therax, ya got an update on this mod for those of us who have taken interest? :D
Zooming in and out - Scroll Wheel. When zooming in, it will center on wherever your mouse cursor is.
This doesn't work, at least for me. Instead of zooming in, it just scrolls the side bar up and down, it doesn't ZOOM in on where ever the cursor is...
By the way... For those who are curious, you CAN select the phase lane itself and delete that in the event you accidently connect two planets you didn't mean to connect. (This may be a 'non-due' but just thought I'd mention)
Not sure if this is the correct place for this; if not then please move. Anyway; on to the topic. I've been playing the Advent a lot, as I love the look of their ships, but one thing I've noticed is that they lack a refinary. Their mine's claim they can use refinaries, as in 0/4 or something. I've flipped the trading stations with their special abilities but never see the 0/4 go up (like it does for TEC and Vasari) So did someone forget to put in the refinary
FYI, the Vasari super weapon also damages your ships in the location of where it fires
Yea I found that out the hard way when I was assaulting their planet, kept wondering what was disbaling my ships, then I realized that my ten Kostura's were still FIRING on the planet even though it was now MINE! In fact, I might
