I wonder how many years passed between the last time psychoak *read* Tolkien and the time when he came to appreciate the value of a well-rounded liberal arts education. Anyone with half a brain and a scrap of attitude can come up with crits of Tolkien, many of which are plausible, e.g. he had no real ability to conceive of female characters other than archetype beings like Galadriel or 'tomboys' like Éowyn. On the other hand, th

Hmmm... I dont see why there is so much disdain for 4chan. I have gone there a few times and frankly I did not see anything worthy of all the urban lore or political bull shit that is associated with it. Maybe I'm to jaded or simple to see it...
Quoting Spartan, reply 1I really liked this title back in the day. It was a fun - albeit not so polished, micro sim game. A great game to play while drinking Captain Morgan Private Stock!!! So that's why the rum's gone!?
No doubt. Sadly I still cant buy stuff from Impulse. It kills me that I want to get SD a pile of money but they wont take it...
I think having a system where different AI play styles are chosen based on conditions instead of them trying to learn mid match is far superior. On normal or below you could have the AI just randomly choose a playstyle and on hard or above the AI can change playstyles depending on what it sees the player doing. Having it recognize some obvious player warmongering and responding by changing from say, the expansionist to defensive playstyl
I can easily imagine something like that in a magic system, but for mundane knowledge, I'm stumped. Well, it generally applies to ethically-limited techs like necromancy, holiness, and slave labor: for example: If you research "Slave Revolution Inspiration" to inspire the enemy's slaves to revolt, you can no longer research "Slave Subjegation" to enslave more people in your own kingdom. A tech like "Beast Hunting"

Waiting for alpha/beta?
I'm still waiting for BB to send me the email with links to all the resources he told me he wanted us to use for it. It is sitting there waiting as it has been for over six months now. Additionally I need to find people to work on it since I dont have the time to do so now.

Hmmmm.... I have suggest many times in the past and even offered Frogboy a lot of money before (he refused) specifically for this title. Anyway I do see it as the way of the future for serious gamers.

I.e. certain techs would show up in some games but not in others. Not core techs but ones that spice things up in different directions.
Good stuff. I also hope you allow for negative effects for all techs. For example if I get "supe
maybe you can beat up kryo until he can't do his job then take his place. Since he's workin' remote. (I think island dog is too) Somehow I doubt my pay could sustain Spartan's uber-computer
For the right job I would give it up in a hot minute. Additionally it is not uber Godbox anymore sadly enough. It is a mere demigod now. However I'm already looking into but to build for my next one. I really want an oct

You guys should read the thread on the topic at ARS! It is a blast! Additionally threads in other communities are the same. EA is getting [justly] slammed across the board!I cant wait to slam it on Amazon (again) for such practices. On a positive note, SD is getting some pretty good exposure over the issue with the GBR and people like me plugging it to pissed off gamers threating to stop gaming if such shit continues from publishers.

Quoting Scoutdog, reply 6... In any case, it's the anatomically correct part you need to worry about: GmOOni changes genders like most people change pants. Reading these together smells odd...OK, it probably smells bad. Surely you've changed your pants more than four times? And since I've br
