I’m guessing something similar to this will be implemented minus your extreme mountain pushing, flying, immortal super man type hero analogy. I believe you’ll be able to reasonably increase the power and abilities of heroes but I would guess heroes can never get quite as powerful as a Channeler who invested all of his energy in himself maybe close but not quite.
a channeller who invests only in himself an overwhelming advantage as he goes around dueling all of his enemies who have invested their essence differently.
My definition of a duel is where both men agree to fight at a specific time at a specific place so if the player didn’t think he had a fair chance at beating his opponent he would simply decline the duel. If the player accepted the duel
Dueling System: Amended 1.1a I’ve been thinking about a dueling system in Elemental in part because the tactical battles sound like they are going to be cinematic and very dependant on customization. Based on what little knowledge is available right now I think Elemental would be a great game for some type of dueling system. The level of customization and physics alone in Elemental sounds l
I like this idea although balance might be a little hard. I think the easiest way to handle this would be to put the curse on some kind of timer 3 – 5 minutes would suffice I think that is long enough were you would definitely feel the effects of the curse but not so long that you would be crippled for the rest of the game.
I personally love physics in games I prefer first order physics (affects game play) but second order physics (eye candy) is great too. If a game has a really in-depth and meaningful second order physics system it makes the game dramatically more interesting to watch and keeps the feeling of uniqueness far longer. I personally get extremely bored seeing the same exact thing over and over so when a game has a nice second order physics system that makes me want to pay attention each t
I've not played SMAC I wouldn't mind this idea in conjunction with a more specific system. So lets say you choose a general research direction of magic and from time to time your mages, sorcerers, and wizards make new spells in whatever field of magic they happen to be studying (this would be the private sector) but the player could also offer the equivalent of a government grant were you put a predefined amount of resources and gold toward a specific goal. Using my magic exam
The thing about revolutions is the vast majority in human history haven’t been successful. Typically a lot of criteria have to be in place for a rebellion to be successful otherwise a government like several games mentioned here end up having to deal with an annoying but not necessarily dangerous revolt. The change sought by rebels is more often achieved by peaceful influence on the government with some sporadic “radicals” causing types of troubles. If
Some of these issues have already been addressed by Stardock personnel, they have stated while they want the player to have a lot of freedom in Elemental they shouldn't be bogeded down with micromanagment and I believe they mentioned some kind of intelligent governor AI for cities and maybe even regions. Here is the link to essentially Q&A for Elemental:WOM so far although I guess everything mentioned is subject to change and all that jazz. <a ti
I think it is fairly obvious at least from what i've read that the Channeler (AKA king, emperor, cheiftain, ect) can potentially be a super unit depending on how a person plays the game and certain magic spells sound like they will be super weapons but with the level of customization in Elemental will the player be able to create his own super weapon / unit? For example would I be able to make a "magical spear of the one hit wonder shot" assuming I had the resources then give it to some
That sounds awesome.
One game Starwars Lightsaber Duels nuff said.
The whole galaxy forge thing is pretty cool but it is kind of annoying how the player has to individually go to https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?libid=70&cat=General to find and download the map. In the next patch could you please incl
I’d like to see a renovated diplomacy system in Sins that includes a bartering ability. So that way you could trade metal, crystal, or credits to another player securely. Right now one of you has to give a resource on good will and then hope the other player fulfills his part of the bargain. I’d also like the player to be able to inform the AI who he is allied with, ask for time extensions on missions, ask the AI player to make peace with a specific faction, and be able to make a long term alli
Good Post I totally agree.
Ok... first off, you use different type of fighters for different roles. Look at the US military... they are trying to streamline their inventory with the f35b. A single fighter aircraft to fit all roles. That makes the need to have 3 types of fighters obsolete, and it is the way ANY military would want it. The larger ships have the more important task of planetary defense and attack while fighters defend against bombers... Why would you need 3 types of fighters? Cool factor
The AI doesn't know you are allied with this other faction just like you don't know who he is allied with. He just knows that he wants them taken out, preferably by you.
In that case the player / AI should be able to show allies who they are allied with. You arn't going to find any alliances were each memeber only knows one other member of the alliance.
You can give AI players attack and defend missions once you have earned enough favor with them. Select
Sins is a good game and I love the scale and the battles. The interface is well done and easy to manage and fleets are easy to control and maintain. There are two areas that I think Sins could improve in after playing several games. 1. Diplomacy: The current diplomacy in Sins is very one dimensional and lacks any real control on the players part which I find annoying. The mission based system for building favor really doesn’t bother me except for when it gives me unrealistic time frames
Maybe not boarding in the traditional since that a group of soldiers blasts their way around the ship but maybe a similar tactic could fit in Sins. I would be warm to the idea of having a computer virus that could infect a vessel and perhaps make it fire at friendly ships or something of that nature.
Large scale space battles done with some good old TLC.....nuff said.
I had envisioned only the flagship being customizable just this one ship. I didn’t mean to imply or suggest it would be like the super star destroyer executor but just a graphically different looking capital ship that would be the flagship for your empire. I realize this game is going to be real time so I know a complex in-depth ship design system was out of the question. This in my opinion would just add more player involvement kind of like naming fleets.
I’ve been keeping my eye on this game for a while now and I’m looking forward to buying it baring any major calamities. Although I did want to pitch a few ideas at the devs but after doing some searching other people have brought up most of my concerns/ideas already except for one. Now I know the ships for the three factions are going to be standardized although you will be able to research new weapons and all that jazz. I think it would be cool if you could create a flagship for your empire’s f
Good post right here.
