I don't think it's fair to say that Elemental is the evolution of strategy games. I think it's one direction in which strategy games could go, but I don't think it's the one that they should. I've always favored strategy games with relatively few rules (i.e. games that are relatively predictable) and relatively few roleplaying elements. I
If you don't mind my asking, why don't you like to have your consoles online? I can understand with the 360, you are pretty much forced to buy a $100 wireless adaptor, but the Wii's is built in. I've had mine connected since the beginning, although I admit I don't go online very often.
Only if you want wireless connection. My 360 has been plugged in via CAT5 from the beginning.
From what I recall Xbox360 has a ton of old games also, think I bought Joust, Contra, Frogger, Galaga, and some others.
I know when I tried this method, it didn't work for Dragon Age origins when the two machines didn't have the same operating system. I'm not sure if that will be the case here, but keep it in mind if something goes wrong.

If game updating and mod handling was their primary concern, there were plenty of other options that wouldn't have required bundling a third party store with the game.
Agreed, if it just bundled Steamworks, which in turn didn't require an install of Steam, I doubt many of us would have a problem. No third party. And updating being as simple as clicking on 'update' when firing up the game and it checks automatically, or perhaps I visit the game's site or similar repository and DL the patch and apply it myself. <b

They've had enough legal issues that say exactly that, with enough blood on their hands not to be able tojust claim they deliver what consumers want.
