Everyone who loves the game should want Stardock to be more successful because this strengthens not only the chance of Stardock releasing sequels, but also increases the chance of other games being made similar to this by other companies. With this in mind... Stardock will be more successful if its gaming community grows because this means more ' word of mouth ' about the game. Expansions with multiplayer as one of the features will draw a great number of multiplayer gamers which means

I also wanted to give a big thank-you to everyone which has posted... making this topic becoming one of the fastest growing topics on the GAL_CIV_2 forum ! Making the game available for multiplayer will increase the gaming community which means more money for Stardock which means greater chances for sequels. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Congrats.gif

What's really surprising is currently a funky workaround exists for getting hotseat to work... so why doesn't Stardock release via download for a $10.oo fee an official hotseat within GAL_CIV_2?? It's practically working now why not just make it official ?? Doing this will satisfy many of those wanting the multiplayer functionality. Ideally it would be nice to see LAN multiplayer become available as well... but giving the MP gamers something is better than nothing.<br/

Potentially a turn could take a long time, and having to wait for a few human players to take their turn wouldn't be very fun. And considering how much dev time you said it would take its just not worth it. I would rather the game just be expanded. WRONG... this is already being done within DOMINIONS_2... a popular TBS game where a single t

Yes 3 leprechauns may lose to a warlord in battle... however If you're attacking a town with stone walls, 5 archers and it has a wizard tower that shoots.... it only takes 2 leprechauns to win the town... where 3 Warlords would fail.

I know that I said no, because $15 is my magic number for the value of any expansion. I can't justify that extra $5 in my head for some reason. Maybe when I am less broke. I've been playing games for awhile... I can't remember seeing any expansion in the stores for less than $29.99. In any case at the very least Stardock shou

IIRC, it said 1/3 would pay $20 for a multiplayer ONLY expansion. very true... which means many more would pay for an expansion if multiplayer was just one of many features within an expansion. Features such as larger maps, campaign editor, new races, new techs and more. Unfortunately we can only wait... before we know for

1/3 said they would pay US$20 for a multiplayer expansion, 2/3 said no! What I'm looking for are the results... which means the decision Stardock has made regarding the multiplayer poll. Myself and others plan on buying the game if multiplayer becomes available... and thus we're stuck waiting for the multiplayer poll

The June 2006 edition of Computer Gaming World has arrived and in it is the review of Galactic Civilizations II. If you don't get Computer Gaming World, it's definitely worth it to pick it up on the newstand. It's definitely worth reading the June 2006 edition if it has the results of the GAL_CIV_2 multiplayer POLL !!

The other day, I saw a copy of GalCiv II on the pre-played shelf of my local EB Games. That was your mistake.... just take it back and request to replace it with a new copy where you pay the difference.

The auto-restart is because you are getting a blue screen of death error and by default windows will auto-restart. Most likely it's a graphics issue causing the restart.... install the most recent drivers for your hardware.

Based on the power behind the PS3 console it shows Microsoft is holding back what PC software can do. This is being done because each OS released has to be backwards compatible for businesses. If the windows operating system doesn't upgrade to using better and more advanced hardware then more and more games will continue moving to the gaming consoles. Microsoft is driven by money hungry suits which rule the PC industry with an iron fist.

Well the reason AI development has been so slow is because developers plan for their future and it's easier to show and sell what fancy graphics you can do compared to how great an AI was created. Even gaming publishers don't ask gaming companies AI questions... they just expect them to make it work. As a result we get an AI which works, yet unfortunately these AI opponents are either below average, bad, very bad or terrible. So the question is where is the future of AI gaming... it w

Amazing.... we're still waiting on the results of the multiplayer POLL ! Stardock even released the poll results for the patch .... yet nothing for the multiplayer POLL which was the one before. The multiplayer poll results and comments is the most important POLL for so many of us wanting multiplayer... hopefully we'll hear something soon !

I could care less if less people on the poll selected we want multiplayer then single player.. i will pay for itjust bring it the heck out! No matter how good AI is.. and this AI is damn good.. playing with humans is sooooo much better. I completely agree... the replay value of the game increases by ten times with multiplayer because with AI op

I did some further reading and it appears if Stardock develops multiplayer it will be the primary focus of the expansion... this has never been done by other software companies and for good reason. Expansions should include many new features not a single feature. The expansion should include multiplayer as one of many features. The purpose of releasing an expansion is to capture as many sales as possible. Releasing an expansion that is multiplayer only will OBVIOUSLY produce few
