Nothing at all sounds false or amiss in this work. I figure if I can't tell the truth then what's the point? I might as well just buy the Hallmark card. Thanks again.

This was very moving, Gideon. My son=in-law is in Iraq. In between phone calls, whcih thankfully are frequent, my daughter relies on intuition to know if he's safe or not. Good requiem.
I'm not very good at analyzing poetry, and really who wants me to? You're welcome to analyze my stuff anytime. I am just beginning this part and you hit the nail on
I stand at the window As you tumble on the grass like a litter of puppies Sweaty and popsicle stained. I dry my hands on a dish towel and My heart smiles. I stand at the window As the radio panics And the sky turns chlorine green. I gather you under my wings and play camping while My heart heaves a force field around you.
Thank you for all your prayers. The result is that I found a lovely home in suburban Phoenix. It's actually the house I had pictured in my head. I really don't want to seem ungrateful. I mean God has provided me with a good job, a house I love, my children are here with me safe and sound. Phoenix is really a beautiful city. The desert colors are gorgeous. Ev
Can't sit because your bum hurts, can't stand cause your ankles swell, can't lie down becasue you can't breathe. It'll be over soon. Do you have access to a swimming pool? YMCA perhaps? Maybe you can float that little punkin to a better position. At least you'll be comfortable for a few minutes. Blessings--Maggie
Having actually sold three copies of my book to people I've never met before was tremendous validation. Did you self publish? I recently realized that I need to look seriously at publication of some sort. I was in either Barnes and Noble or Borders, you know, one of my places of worship. I was scouring
I've started and deleted several comments. I can't seem to formulate what I want to tell you without making it about me. So I'll just say thank you for posting this. I needed to read it.
This does not belong under Fiction writing. I'd put it in poetry, art and/or politics. Stupid scroll button. I thought I clicked poetry. I gotta find me a writing group.<
I knew a woman who used her food stamps to buy soda so that she could get the bottle deposit so she could put gas in her tank so she could go to work. Yes, there are people who use their resources foolishly. Some people just do what they gotta do. And sometimes, when you are so ground down, you buy the luxury items to convince yourself that you aren't down to pinto beans and rice just yet. Well written article btw.</fon
Way back in January my writing group did an exercise. We were to do a free write off of Diane Levertov's Come into Animal Presence. After reading little-whip's article on zoos and the subsequent discussion, I decided to post this. Thanks to little-whip for starting a really good discussion and to Diane Levertov for the prompt. Do you feel that zoos are sacred
Sending up a prayer for you and yours Thanks! I am accepting all the prayers I can get. I just have to believe that God has arranged this all for our good. Something really important is about ot happen for us.
I feel so much better now. Thank you for the potato salad. Forgive me for ranting. But it felt good.
After 30+ years of my father agonizing over gifts for my mother only to have her ask for the receipt. After 30+ years of seeing him watch with eager anticipation as she opened the gift only to be shot down, my dad asked me, " What should I get your mother?" I told him, "Say these words...'our anniversary is coming up and I want to get you something really special so I'd like to take you shopping.'" Ok, so it cost him a full carat, but she still tells t
Somedays--You just can't make this stuff up. The week-end is coming.
Our goodbye hug wasn't nearly long enough. ;~D I know, but I don't need Pam mad at me. I was studying my scriptures this morning and I was reading in Exodus 14. "And they said unto Maggie, because there were no graves in Wisconsin
My suggestion: the next time someone tries to do a loving, caring or perhaps courageous thing for you, allow yourself to luxuriate in it. Great insight. It seems that in most of my grown-up life, any kindness or tenderness came with a price tag. Thanks for the analysis. <img src="../images/smiles/smile.
But I love dreams. They make dredging through the other 16 hours of the day almost worthwhile Abso-bloomin-lutely!
So, what's this dream mean to you? My Pete is a guy I dated for several months and remained friends with for two years. He's the one a few of my other pieces are about. So when a Pete I haven't thought about in ages show up in my dreams, I think it's symbolic of all the things I wanted but couldn't hav
My mom used to say "Oh I could eat you with a spoon." Beautiful child!

written in an age of leisure when 120 words was not considered excessively long for a first sentence). Great first sentence--but a booger to read aloud:)
The gypsies pay extra for blond kids. How about "If you two don't stop fighting I will lock you in a room and keep the survivor."
What a sweet story! May I ask/invite you to read my fortune cookie poem. (I don't know how to do links.) It is so hard to have a 'best friend" that doesn't get it.
(I told Mrs. Moskowitz, the next time I move, it'll be easy, seeing as I'll be in an urn and all.) Someon
