A couple of friends of mine recently stripped 20 decommisioned 10-year old workstations of all the RAM and 4 GB Harddisks. I wonder what they're gonna do with that junk *rolleyes* Old RAM can be sold in bulk to companies that refurbish it. Hard drives can be taken apart to get rare earth magnets. I have hundreds of these super-

Only the beta testers get the beatings tomorrow. Dang. And I wasted a perfectly fine Rolling Stones song... ::sigh:: Oh well. Guess I'll stay up late and sleep through the next few days. Anybody got NyQuil? I'll need a couple of bottles.

Well, as it is my money they want they'd better stop using crap protection like StarForce on their games... I agree, but only to a point. For each person like you who doesn't purchase a game because of Starforce, there are 10,000 people who don't care. The people that don't buy their products aren't stopping anyone but themselves from playing g

We're targeting 2pm EST tomorrow. So is this a Valentine's Day gift to us who pre-ordered? A day of crashing servers and obnoxious posts? Thanks, Brad. I'll send you some dead roses... <T

S'funny. I heard all about that starforce and rootkit stuff a while ago. I really like Silent Hunter III. I wouldn't trash a game because of it. Although I understand all of the issues that people have with it. You know what? I have more important things to worry about than that. I will keep SH3 on my system. I also have HL2 and use Steam. I don't like it. And when something that can wipe the rootkits without killing my games shows up, I'll use it. I have Rootkit Revealer on my comp. I could kil

since we're bragging.... To quote Walter Brennan from the 1967 TV western "The Guns of Will Sonnet". "That's not brag, boy. That's fact." Anyone old enough to remember that show gets a cookie. If they have teeth to chew it. Store-bought teeth count.

Just downloaded and ran Wesnoth. Got through the tutorial. Looks like fun. Thanks for the link. It won't kill the craving for GalCiv2 but it might quiet the craving a bit.

This is a refreshing bit of honesty. The entire post deserves to be commented on by certain web sites and blogs that make it a habit of taking game publishers to task for releasing buggy crap and blowing off user complaints. Sure they like shooting fish in a barrel, but will they give credit where credit is due? Probably not. As we all know, good news doesn't sell papers. Kudos to Stardock. Well done.

Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords looks like what a sequel should be, taking the best of the seminal game and improving on it while taking a few risks for the sake of innovation. High praise indeed. Sounds like they like it. The more previews I read the more painful the wait. Arggghh

Well I'll tell ya. I've recently played the Empire at War demo. My feelings? If I just had $40/45/50 to spend on one game, I'd go for GalCiv2. Why? I'm not a RTS person. Which is not to say that EAW is not a cool game. Quite the opposite. It's one of the first RTS games that I've enjoyed for a while. It seems (by the demo) to have toned down the crap that turns me off to RTS games. There is one, and only one commodity. Money. You get that from owning planets. Nice, says I. The contro

I appreciate all of the replies to this thread. It seems that a lot of people remember the quality that was/is MoM. I too would love to see a revamp of the game with up to date graphics and a few tweaks to the AI. The funny thing is, that I believe that MoM would be as big a seller as GalCiv2. While there are only a few posts here about it , I think it would be big for two reasons: 1. This kind of TBS game obviously has fans. And there are a lot more people out there who

Q: I want to purchase the game at Stardock and download immediately but I still want the box. Can I do this? A: YES. If you purchase the second option (CD purchase) you still get a serial # to download the game. That serial # is temporary (i.e. will expire) but will let you play the game until the box arrives. This is fro

Clearing your cookies would also reset the quantity. But it would also make it so that you would have to log on to all of your favorite sites again. Sometimes cookies are bad, sometimes they are good. Welcome to the interwebroadwayplace.

I just pre-ordered and I went through it so fast that I don't recall if it had a Change Quantity button, but most online order forms do. Just change it there. Or back out and reset the checkout completely. Or just close your browser and redo the whole thing. Until you actually send in the final order nothing will be saved.

Let me be the first, in this thread at least, to say. Let us download it! If I pre-order the boxed version, can I also download it before I actually get the box? Maybe this is a stupid question and if so, I apologize. I'd like the game but I don't think I'd like to buy two of them. Nothing personal. But I'd like the boxed version as well as being able to get it ASAP on my hard drive.
