Spell power is a tricky one for me. You can logic it out in that the magic itself doesn't effect the target, the spell creates the condition... ie a ball of fire, and then the target has to deal with it. But it's magic...can reason it out in any way. Problem is leveling. (Clarity is a problem too but, well not AS important as mechanics.) But with leveling, spell power creates resistance. There needs to be a defense against it. I'm not

Outpost in the north-west is often not enough of an indicator for you to find it yourself. I've been trying to duplicate. Someone's been getting 2k+. I think I got hit for that and my 'heroes' can hit for 300+ or they can hit for 25, which is more in line of what makes sense based on my attack and enemy defense. I thought it just might be moving the decimal, but 2k seems high for that. Maybe it is running though the damage calc multiple times??? who knows.

That's what I assumed, but was unable to duplicate. In the same game I do believe I encounter another group (same camp I assume) and just continued to play out the battle (someone in plate with low HP got rocked) and it didn't happen. But, based on what you say it can still happen in that case...so it makes sense that that (hate that) is the issue.

That's good to hear. I guess what I find most frustrating...had to do it again to find out what actually triggered my irritation...is it just *poofs*. If you click the second option it just goes away without a hint as to what happened. At least some flavor or feedback. Example: Do you wish to enter the cave? -Enter -Leave (cancel quest) This way you know this isn't a forking quest-line, which I believe there are a couple quests

Or, can we understand why this happens? It reminds me of the days of playing Abraham Lincoln with democratic government. Getting outvoted for war at every turn. That's what this essentially is without there being a vote. Essentially the AI decides. On the note of unit selection...Since WoM shift clicking or Ctrl clicking severely lag the cursor. Forcing me to shift-click, shift-click...and of course I do the occasional click-shift (da

There is more than this issue. Anything that happens simultaneously seems to 'lag' updates, even the spells themselves. Or even like in the case you mention, circumvent it. I when clicking on units while 'stuff' is going on, or some spells or attacks that have multiple targets / hits will cause animations not to update. Prone creatures stand, health displayed is incorrect...I've even gotten units to stand in a place that they were (oh dear) but aren

I'm scared to wish for tactical changes. I've seen someone suggested a feature (I want) of highlighting the 'que' card highlights the unit on the board. Im not sure if the AI takes into account initiative and battle order or not, but since WE can it would be nice. I also cringe a little bit about the 'tactics' in the tactical battle. Ranged weapons are as effective at every range. - this may be a slippery slope if different

I wonder about this from the AI point of view. I like the balance, strategic summons can level and are more efficient over time (assuming you use them in battle), while tactically they add firepower without losing an army slot. But the fact that you can double them up seems slightly overpowered if the AI won't use it this way...and I am doubting they do. Besides that, it just seems strange that you are limited to a single summons...unless there is a fight go

Right now I don't quite get the current quest system. The quests I like, but I feel the current implementation encourages a quick-save mentality. They seem to be too much all-or-nothing. And maybe I'm just not understanding what is supposed to happen. To me there seems to be no reason to select the second option in the quest dialogs, ever. Which essentially makes them prompts. The only quest I've encountered where it made sense

Also the risk reward scale seems off . You can send a pioneer to grab a shard in a few turns (meaning it can happen, not saying it's extremely likely) and that will near double your strength. Whereas if you were to double your strength by leveling, it would take several levels and new equipment which requires your champion to be put at risk repeatedly. Not too much of a complaint, but it does seem a little bit backwards that the sharpest increase

Just saw this, forgot. Three single units, one leader (forget the type) and 2 bandits with knives. The first one threw the knife and I think I dodged...not sure but it did something. The second one had to move a couple spaces then threw it. I saw the pause, but I figured it to be related to the current - ranged attacks leave and come back from the left side of the screen - bug. But it took a little longer than usual, I thought I had missed it. I zoome

I think this is my biggest stickler right now. I love the pool mechanic, having 1000 mana feels epic but it can get trashed quickly leaving your next battle a little leaner than you would like. I enjoy the management. Quick note about the spell organization, yeah I know this is going to be addressed so I'll wait and see. I don't have a problem with it since I consider it a known issue. And right now it's clumsy but after playing with it lon

Need verification of this, haven't found the chance to duplicate and suspect it was a save from a previous version. I lost the save prior to the attack but I chased a troll army down and auto-resolved the battle and each time it would only show the last unit in the line killed (my army was extremely offensive focused). Chase them down and auto-resolve again, the last unit that died last battle indeed was gone, and now the new bottom unit was killed. Was a group

Ninja'd Well I'll move mine here...what are the odds. :p Yeah I'm not sure how crits are calculated, I assume that the % to crit is straight off the value. And I assume the crit damage is supposed to be "base plus 100%(1+bonus)". But yeah, that's clearly not happening. I guess maybe I was hit for 2k myself, i thought 200 but I have had the animations set high to get enemy armies back on their feet after a ?T

6 Replies 4,451 Views

I'm not sure how criticals work. I assume it's a straight percent and is unavoidable when it 'procs'. I also assume that crit damage = damage*(1+x). Right now I have seen some insane criticals and unfortunately they happen where I either can't backtrack to see what the defense of the target was(not even sure armor is accounted for). I think a 20 atk vs my 27 armor did 272 dmg, and recently I myself hit a
