I've actually seen pretzels that are less convoluted than this thread.
I just have one question: if pirates are banned from the internet, what will become of Sir Starkers? :SURPRISED:
Personally, I'm a little confused about what your issue is with the software. It's "too programmable"? In other words, it has many more options for configuration than you would use personally? Isn't the answer to that to configure what you want? Have you used WB6? It's pretty easy to install skins. In fact, try downloading one from the gallery. When the tooltip pops up in the lower righthand side of your screen, click it and WB will install that skin automatically. Regarding OD, if I'm
If I remember correctly from playing this on the X360, a character with better agility (like Spider-Man) has more time to push the button on the Simon games. If you haven't tried that yet to get past the Skrulls, give it a shot.
Piznit, I would try this, but on the Skrull homeworld, the game is scripted such that you have to use Silver Surfer (maybe the X360 version is different?). Thanks for the ti
elias, Check eBay. I got my copy of X-Men Legends II on sale at Target a year or so ago. Target is a great place to find PC games on clearance for absurdly low prices. I've picked up a number of items (GUN, Warhammer 40K: Dark Crusade, NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer, to name a few) as cheap as $5 to $10. It's true that Wolverine is a pretty potent tank character, but even he can't help you with the Simon games.

On the surface, this game seems like a great idea: cobble together a game extremely similar to X-Men Legends II except instead of restricting the roster of heroes and villains to traditional X-Men/Brotherhood-types, throw in the kitchen sink of Marvel paragons and ne'er-do-wells. And it's actually a terrific idea; the execution, however, falls rather short of its goals. <span style="font-family:

We don't need embryonic (destroying life) cells when we can very well use adult stem cells (without destroying life) which have a better track record. But let me see if I can get a quote from him on this and get back to you. And if your son happens to mention in his research that there is no explanation for something he found except that "G-d made it", we'll see whether he will get his Ph.
Better make sure that if/when you uninstall, you get the SecuROM off. In the meantime, enjoy having it phone home around your back. Therein lies the rub for me; not the demo/$10 thing, not the fact that EA is publishing it. It's the DRM.Reason enough to keep me far, far away from it. Thanks for the tip, canmandeco. After reading about these a bit, I downloaded a few and was running the Family Guy desktop for a little while, but it seemed to cause a weird skipping issue with the pre-mission cutscene movies in Marvel Ultimate Alliance , so I turned it off. :NOTSURE:
Go to any major gaming site (ign.com, gamespy.com, gamespot.com, to name a few) or the official Spore website and look at the forums discussing the Creature Creator, a limited version of which became available for download yesterday and the full version of which will be available for retail purchase tomorrow. You will invariably find many comments that say "I can't believe EA/Maxis/Will Wright/Will Wright's evi
. . . does anybody know much about these "xtreme desktops"? Does anyone use them or had any good or bad experiences with them? Are they compatible with Stardock products?
I would just like to throw in my 2 cents into the well and say that I don't see much of a point in hyping things up if there are still outstanding problems. Of course we'd all like for OD to prosper in the future, but current issues should always be the priority. That is of course unless Stardock can juggle the 2 simultaneously and, by the looks of things lately, they don't have a good track record of that. Therefore, my suggestion: let's please sort the problems we have NOW and then star
I don't think the point of this thread was "my toy is better than your toy, so if you don't have my toy, just go home." I don't care whether you believe that consoles are better gaming platforms than PCs; obviously, we know what Alphonse and SanChonino's opinions are on that point. I reiterate: I think it's lame that LucasArts chose to ignore a large installed base of devices fully capable of running their game because it couldn't be bothered to make a compatible version. If

Well, I'm sorry, Alphonse and SanChonino, but scaleability has always been a component of the making of PC games. So, yes, it's lame that a company that has as much money as LucasArts couldn't be bothered to produce a PC version. Think about it this way: if a PC version were released simultaneously with console versions and you had both systems, which one would you buy for? It boils down to either cheap, lazy, or both.
Hm. So is the Dell Dock superior to ObjectDock, or is this a question of whether you want your dock prettier or smaller? If the new code is, in fact, better than what's in OD+ 1.9, will we be seeing the optimizations incorporated into new releases of OD? In any case, congratulations on having the tech pre-loaded on Dells--that must be a nice business boost. :)
- Possible inability to play games/access content in the future when the software or service is considered obsolete or the sponsoring company closes (this was an issue with Triton, an early digital distro channel that died, leaving quite a few early buyers of 3D Realms's shooter, Prey, up the creek until a fix was released that disabled the online authentication check)
I hate quoting myself, but I wanted to add that this has long been one of the things that bothers me abo
I'm not sure whether this is the right thread for this comment, but . . . I found Caesar's Ghost's comments to be insightful, by and large, although I personally have very mixed feelings about digital distribution of gaming content. While I think it's terrific for updates, patches, and non-gaming content (MP3s, MyColors themes), there is something almost ineffable about having a physical disk and an actual manual that you can take in the living room and read or on a road trip, et cetera
