Good suggestions, thanks! I most definitely want to start our own traditions when we have children. That also worries me in a way thinking of how we will have time for three different traditions, then! "Have you ever thought of switching up and visiting your family in the morning and afternoon and your husband's family in the evening?" That is a good idea, but I would then have to have my husband's sister and her husband adopt that idea

I come from a very small family. We are not close with my dad's side of the family, and my mom is from England, so we don't really see them either. We never really had any huge plans as a family, considering it was just my mom, dad, older sister, and me. Regardless, we always managed to have pleasant holidays. Now this will be the second Christmas I have been married,

My husband showed me those "motivational" posters online before, they are so funny! It's even funnier when they look like they should say something serious and encouraging but really state quite the opposite!

I can't even tell you how many times I have cried after a bad haircut, then felt even worse that I was so stupid to cry over it. Truth be told, I think hair is a lot more important than you think (to women at least) to your self esteem. It is a huge part of your femininity and if you feel like it looks like a boy cut then you lose a part of that. Locamama was right; "the good thing is that hair grows". Especially when it is short!! It will grow out bef

My mom works at a daycare and it disgusts me when she tells me stories like this. On a little girl's birthday, the parents took the day off, but still dropped her off at daycare in the morning, picked her up for lunch, then dropped her off and went back home without her!!! Not to return until 6:00 to pick her up. She was the last one to be picked up that night, on her birthday. Now, why the hell did those parents even take the day off? What in the worl

I was told by my husband on Friday that our favorite show, Arrested Development, is getting the ax. I know it may sound pathetic to be so upset by the ending of a television program, but let me just tell you of all the shows on T.V. right now, this is the one that we "have" to see. We always make sure to leave Monday nights open for that 8:00 time slot. The shows rati

"Which islands did you visit? We haven't been to any others yet, but I am seriously yearning to visit the Big Island." We went to Kauai, and are actually returning to visit again in March. I am counting down the days already!!!! It is incredibly beautiful and natural there. No tall buildings or hotels like on the other islands, which is what we like. I also would like to visit O

I can see how dramatic a new dress code might be for a school in Hawaii, considering how laid back I would imagine it to be. I went to Hawaii on my honeymoon just 1.5 years ago, and while driving once we passed a school while the kids were at recess. They obviously had a dress code because all of the kids matched in purple tee shirts and jeans, which I thought a little strange for some reason. If it is so casual, why bother with a dress code at all?<BR

I also get frustrated with cleaning all the time. It always seems like a good idea to do a one big "clean" about once a month, then you'd think that if you keep up with it once a week it won't ever get that dirty again. Wrong! No matter how thorough of a job I do on cleaning our tub, it seems it will start getting mildew in 2 weeks time! That is my least favorite houshold chore. I think weekends should be for relaxing and enjoying family and friends, n

I always feel cleaner after a shower. I take showers everyday, but a nice hot bubble bath can be a real treat. I agree it is kindof gross to bath in what you are washing off, but baths for me are not just for cleansing. They are for relaxing. Especially on cold winter nights. But I would have to say still that showers are the way to go on a daily basis.

Oh that's terrible. Hope you all feel better soon! I can't imagine how hard it would be to take care of others who are sick when you yourself are sick and most likely can't even take care of yourself. I know when I am sick, I (as an adult!!) still like to be babied and taken care of. I can get quite selfish and sorry for myself when I don't feel well. I am goign to be so bad at this when I have kids!! <img src="../images/smiles/mad.gif" border=0 ALIGN=

You sound so happy whenever I read anything you write about your husband! I am glad for you that you have such a good relationship with him. Must be hard to be apart when he is away.

That stinks that you didn't enjoy the new Steve Martin movie. I haven't seen many advertisments for it; where was it playing around our area? Never heard of Partygirl. Is it a comedy? I love Parker Posey.

I agree that Jake looks really good in the commericial for that movie. I also agree with the earlier statement that it is hot when guys just look "manly", not so much in uniform for me. Yes, I'll admit I have a thing for firefighters, ....but I happen to think that my husband is incredibly attractive all the time. No uniform required, just regular clothes.

Oh my gosh I'm saddend to say that I forgot all about candy corn this year! That must be saying something about me being extremely busy lately, too. I LOVE candy corn! Now I am going to have to go shopping around for some leftovers on sale!! I agree with you that you can only have so much, though, before you start getting that way too sweet taste in your mouth!
