...can that be turned off in Windowblinds 6 also? If you are running Vista, just turn off DWM. That shuts down all transparency. I'd imagine v6 of WB will have an actual function to do it though.

On a sidenote, I cannot get windowblinds 5 enhanced to work in Vista at the moment. The program continually requires a reboot. ...And no, I wasn't running antivirus or a registry guard program during the install. Anyway...nothing beats pure Aero imo. There are some real issues with WB5.5x at the moment. Your problem I have come across and for me it was down the to WBVista service not being set to Automatic start for some reason. Go into services.m
Indeed sorry to see it affecting you guys. We've been lucky so far and not been hit, but lots of friends around the UK have. Thousands of people (into 10's I believe) have had major damage and are now living in various emergency areas.
I threw up slightly when I saw it. After using it for a day I want to slap Apple. It's a pretty decent browser on the Mac, but this version is an abortion.
Worst. Browser. Ever. I like Safari on the Mac, but this is just a turd. Code to Windows guidelines morons [Apple]. They are there for a reason.
Nice as always, though not buying any more premium suites until WB6 and specific Vista designed skins.
I'm now liking Vista after some teething troubles, that now I am putting down to a bad burn of the RTM ISO. Nvidia drivers are good, Half-Life 2 Ep: 1 runs well, though I only have 1GB of ram in this laptop so that is more of an issue than it was with XP (even though Vista in general use seems to use less memory... weird). After a BIOS update, to a Vista designed BIOS from Toshiba, sleep, hibernate and other resumes are next to instantaneous, much like I am used to in OSX. It'
Why pre-order? There are no stock shortages and online ordering has moved on so far since Windows 95 that cues are unnecessary.
Add another 5 installs here. If you need IE, it's best to use the latest version. Then again I use Opera and FF also, but wouldn't deride anyone for using IE7 as it's a good browser.
The benchmarks for Intel Quad utterly destroy AMD. This release is a good thing. AMD's is a cop out.
OSS zealots. Tools.
People still use IE? I'm shocked! Don't they realise using IE to "surf" the net is like being with a "working girl" without a prophylactic. (big words, in case the kids are reading ) It's just not safe... FIREFOX FTW Mmm, yeah. If you say so. Must be true. <img src
Strange article. Been using Shapeshifter for years.
Rapid deployment scheme here. Should be good.
Ad support sites. Blocking ads can kill revenue and thence the site you want to see. If you are going to block ads, find other ways to support those sites. No need to tell me. I probably support more sites than you through subscriptions. Inlcuding smaller ones such as gfxoasis, hardwaregeeks up to w
For IE7 users: Get IESpell and Inline Search extensions. More reasons not to use FF2. Support Adblock also, the coder is a great guy and very accomodating to coding requests, bug reports etc and it does a better job than Adblock or Adblock Plus (remove's ad's from any app).
IE7 mainly for me. But Opera sometimes. Just don't like FF2. Not sure why, just don't like the feel of it. IE7 + Adblock sorts any issues. Adblock also plugs into Opera and FF2 which is nice.
In some ways I wish you would do what MS don't and scrap the backwards compatibility. I understand why you aren't, but it would be nice to see what WB could do on Vista without being constrained by older formats. Same goes for MS really. One day eh?
I wonder how many people have actually used some of these skins as opposed to merely going by screenshots? I'm going to be taking screenshots of some of these skins and icons IN USE. I really like all the finalists a lot. But they definitely tend to look better in screenshots than they do in actual use. That certainly can't be
Congrats to all, but again I don't agree. Danillooc should have had this gold. The skin is next to perfect in function... especially in comparison to 1st and 2nd. The others are pretty buggy and just don't have the style.
It isn't an IE issue, it is an Outlook related issue. You aren't right in this case. A basic example, Vista does not suffer this security issue, because it DOESN'T have Outlook. At least be sure before posting on the front page of a popular site.
IE7 is positively the owrst browser ever. It keeps crashing my system and slowing it down. I have uninstalled it forever. Avant browser is the best out there. Avant is IE You must have some othe
Already out here : http://downloads.yahoo.com/internetexplorer/index.php Use Winrar or 7zip to extract the .exe. Delete the yahoo toolbar install and the branding .cab and you have IE7 RTM.
Nice write up, but apart from the security apps which shouldn't work due to kernel protection, some of the issues you are reporting are due (probably) to your setup, not Vista as such. Of course others will get different issues. Also, Live Messenger servers were down quite a while in various areas... Live Messenger works fine on RC2 for me.
9MB/sec download, but can't install until Monday.
