butch, what the original artist said was the msstyle can be distributed, not a port of it. that entails posting the unmodified msstyle file on your site or others' sites for distribution. when the skin is ported, it is modified by being changed from one format to another. even if a skin is released as 'open source', it is always advisable to ask the original skinner for permission to port or convert the skin to windowblinds format. and nobody is pickin

i understand some of the stances taken here. i don't agree with them all but i do understand them first of all, i know i can set my ratings level to not show the lesser rated skins. but, as someone pointed out, some of the lesser rated skins may be some that i want to view. i do not buy into the rating system at all, to be honest. many times, a skin's rating is skewed

It has to come to the attention of some of us that only the wallpaper library is moderated for quality. In my opinion, it is painfully obvious that the same moderation standards should be applied to numerous other libraries on WC. I completely understand the thinking that the more skins available here, the more likely folks will be drawn to WC from other sites. But, on the other hand, people from other sites come to WC, scroll through 2 pr 3 pages of skins i

hippy is great at skinning, indeed. his skins are unique in many ways and the quality is ALWAYS top notch. the thing i admire and appreciate most about hippy is his wit. he is definitely one of the funniest people around. just don't mess with his kilt

byron, i couldn't agree more. i wish i could know half as much at 47 as i thought i did at 16 or 17. hoipefully, this kid will grow up and be a productive member of society. this thread really aggravates me, though. i deal with kids his age every day of the week since i run a local youth program. part of my job is to attempt everything i can to keep kids off of drugs. when i see threads such as this, it's very disheartening, to say the least. i know of

as i said before, where are the parents? a 16 or 17 year old kid admits to getting high on grass and mom and dad aren't aware. it's sad, indeed. as for smoking grass not impairing a driver, wake up!! explain that to my aunt and uncle who lost a son to a driver impaired from smoking grass. again, as i said before, it's a bad idea to allow a thread's originator to be able to delete posts he or she seems to think are not beneficial to his or her arguement

i have seen many comments concerning brad and/or stardock left by the less informed on other sites. two things amaze me about such comments:#1, how can anyone who supposedly uses english as his primary language have such poor grammar and spelling capabilities? (yes, i know i don't capitalize) and #2, why is that the anti-brad and anti-stardock crowd seem to think they have to be everywhere and leave the flami

if there was a subskin using traditional button locations, why would they call the skinpack "Unorthodox"? i think you folks are missing the entire concept of the pack. it's called "Unorthodox' for a reason. you should have guaged from the name of the pack and by viewing screenshots that the thought of tradtional skins never entered the equation. these skins are great examples of things that can be done by creative skinners within the windowblinds realm

great skins, guys! congrats on such creative work, mike, hippy, and voo. buttons in unorthodox locations? hmmm. i wonder if that is why the package is called "Unorthodox". to me, these skins are prime examples of what can be done in Windowblinds and Skinstudio by creative artists. i like 'em. i must admit i added compact subskins to a couple of them, tho. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/smile.gif" bo

my question is "why care about downloads?". i'm glad shawn has reached the level he has. shawn's a good guy. why does stardock needs more awards for downloads? is this skinning bit a contest or have i missed out on something? if you're doing this skinning bit for the awards and accolades, you're doing it for the wrong reasons.

being an employee of stardock doesn't mean squat when it comes to the certification, i would imagine. i'm sure there are skins, widgets, and objects created by people who are not employed by stardock that have garnered certification. as to what criteria must be met before certification is awarded, i haven't a clue.
