If you think the Daily Show has some nice satire, you should see what we have in Canada. On Air Farce, people impersonate major political figures (Roger Abbot does a damn good Chretien, Bush). This Hour has 22 Minutes and Monday Report are no slouches either. So watch the CBC and all its wonderful programming like...well...that and the National (news) are pretty much it.
I think the biggest problem would be a terrorist group getting their hands on a nuclear weapon from Russia, Pakistan, or some other country, and detonating it in Israel. Israel retalliates, and the Middle East becomes glass. The only way to prevent a nuclear attack is to get rid of nuclear weapons.

No one has the courage to run on that platform, because they would lose the vote of practically every Christian in the United States, and that is a hell of a lot of votes.
