' Furry: Considering this is the first time I've EVER seen you say anything nice about anyone, I'm not taking much of what you say seriously.' Now THAT'S more like it. Well done ParaTed2k, I knew I could count on you to snarl on cue! 'I wonder though (in the spirit of the thread), have you ever had anything nice to say about us righties?' I refer you to my comment abou

' Texaii, a courageous article. I'm with you.' Hear, hear. It IS a courageous article Texas, but not overstated (as might have been easy to do) and the stronger for it. Anybody notice the deafening silence from the right? The notable exception is of course Little Whip, whose point - in my opinion - is a good one, and well made.

'He said "dont tell hollywood", not "stop hollywood from doing it".' Ah, you just can't help yourself from piping up for the organ grinders, can you Doc?

'Um, that was the entire point of the article: how the media represents anything with homosexuals in it.' Fair enough; but in that case, why do you target Hollywood in your closing line?

'I mean no offense to good teachers inbloom, it should not bnother you when I am just going after the union and bad teachers.' Whether you meant it or not, this is not the timbre of your article, which implies that ALL teachers are rotten; e.g. 'It seems that teachers have but two interests today, getting there time in so they can collect there pension and whining about how underpaid they are'.

'Now, I haven't seen this movie' Are you really complaining about a film you haven't seen, or could it just be how the media represents it?

'What type of tofu do you use (boxed or in a container of water). I use the type that is in water as it seems to have a nicer texture. Do you release any of the moisture out of the tofu before preparing this dish? It sounds quite tasty.' I buy it in a plastic bag with a little water (maybe a couple of dessertspoons), which I drain off before use. I don't press any more liquid out of the tofu, because the firm tofu we use really is just that

'Ah Lucas, at it again.' 'I never apologized. I clarified what i meant.' I didn't say you were APOLOGISING again, I said you were LYING again. And I don't blame you for starting to shy away from apologising - you've apologised so many times before and obviously never meant it. There are limits to the good will / credulity of your fellow bloggers, you know.

'ANd you critical taste analysis?' What exactly are you asking? Do I like it? Definitely. Tofu is a bit of a chameleon foodstuff; it has little flavour of its own, but absorbs that of the other ingredients admirably. We have served this tofu and spinach loaf twice as part of a mixed vegan / traditional Xmas meal for our extended family. It was extremely well received both times, even by those who (1) also ate turkey and (2) had NEVER eaten tofu be

Okay, here's my contribution, vegan of course: TOFU AND SPINACH LOAF Included especially for those who have seen tofu in the supermarket but don't know what to make of it, other than effective packing material for the safe transport of photographic equipment. This is a simple-to-make and surprisingly tasty introduction. INGREDIENTS 16 oz / 450g firm tofu 8 oz / 225g fresh or frozen spinach 2½ oz / 85g sunflower

'There is *a lot* less fat and calories as long as you stay away from heavy use of pasta, potatoes and rice dishes (and, cheese, if you are eating vegetarian).' I have to dispute this, KarmaGirl. Calories, sure, but pasta, potatoes and rice are very LOW in fat - unless you smother them in butter or the like.

Ah Lucas, at it again. Now will you at least stop writing all those sanctimonious 'But that was in the PAST - why will people not give me a break and be open-minded?' sort of comments every and any time your precious integrity is questioned? Let's face it, you lie as easily as breathing, and - despite numerous protests to the contrary each and every time you are caught out - you have never demonstrated the slightest intent to stop.<BR

'And, for furry's benefit, those who are NOT left or right are pretty much by definition not sheep or they would have marched lock in step with either side of the political spectrum. So this argument doesn't ignore them, it just doesn't address them.' If you are using the term 'sheep' as I have previously understood it, you mean that they do not think things through for themselves, but follow a flock mentality. This implies the existence of

'I guarantee you if I portrayed myself as having extensive knowledge of Australia, you and others would put me in check REAL fast. As you should.' *Sigh* I'm going to have to repeat myself here: 'There is nothing in any of my posts specific to the USA, but obviously one is not entitled to an opinion about poverty unless one is directly acquainted with the American 'model'. Thank you very much Gideon for your overwhelming condescension.' <

'Yep! Actually VBS talk. Blood Pressure.' Whatever 'VBS' is! Dr. Guy, you profess to deliberately 'jerking my chain' and 'getting my goat', then express concern for my blood pressure? Hmm. But yes, my 'BP' is better than okay, it's excellent - thanks to healthy eating, exercise and a life outside JU. 'I don't need anyone to speak for me, but if you have a comment which you want me to address directly it's probably not best posted on an open thread.' As I'm quite sure you fully realise Gideon, the response was aimed not at you, but at Dr. Guy. If / when you respond to my comments, I couldn't care less. Now that you and I have both 'rested' our particular 'cases', I am inclined to leave things there. As for your retort that 'He can fi

'I think he did with the last one. best read all the responses. and Get some contacts.' Obviously, Dr. Guy, you think Gideon incapable of fighting his own battles. Don't you EVER let him respond for himself? More seriously, your incessant orders to 're-read' are becoming tedious. No matter how many times one reads a passage - and I try to read thoroughly the first time through - one can't read what isn't there.

'now I AM being patronizing, furry' I rest my case on you, Gideon. 'I don't know the specifics of this suit, but if the accomodations are cost prohibitive, they are not reasonable. Pinnock's suit is a shameful, frivolous lawsuit and he shoudl be ashamed.' And I rest my case on your argument. You admit you know nothing about the specifics of Pinnock's suit, yet you condemn him outright. Isn't this just the sort of prejudice you've b
