Hmmmm...I guess I've never read any of Walsh's work, so I don't know what "God" we're talking about... I think its awesome you're addressing your spirituality though...so many of us neglect that very alive part of ourselves. My thing...I guess I know about the Christian God...the God I have my friendship with. There are two sides of my God that we see in the Bible. The Old Testament shows us a God who gives instruction for wise livi

Cares~ My 2nd semester of senior year my dad was diagnosed with cancer and I missed a bunch of days and really, never should have graduated. My grades sucked, whatever. And you know what? High school is hard! And lots of kids are depressed. Just...if you're depressed for quite a while, go to the doctor. Even it its just short term, medication will help give you a little boost. And I'm really sorry about your kitty.<img src="../i

I have a very large dog back in Minnesota...(I miss my Chase!!!!!!!!!), and Frontline has always worked well for her. She hasn't had problems with fleas ever, but we live out in the boonies and she always gets so many woodticks, but Frontline has been a Godsend!

Considering the Twins lost lots of their key players this year...Doug Mientkeiwcz (I don't think I spelled THAT right), AJ Pierzinski, Eddie Guardado, LaTroy Hawkins, etc., etc....I think they did an awesome job! They're my dudes! No matter how far I move away...they'll always be "my" team. My favorite Twins game: 2001...3 game series against the NY Yankees. Chuck Knoblauch was out in left field. Hmmmm...well...considering I'm white trash and curently have one close relative in federal prison for embezzling millions of dollars "You go, uncle G!" and another close relative that was just released from a 10 year stint in prison, I thought their names would be interesting as well. Me: 3 Dollar Bill Uncle G: Fat Boy Other Incarcerated Relative: Howard Sperm My B

While I agree with you DeeDee...I think that us women tend to romanticize things...we watch too many chick flicks. I'm 24...I'm waiting till I marry too...and I know it's going to be emotional, but it's not like the movies...and I think alot of us end up disappointed when its not.

No! no more talk about Minnesota! I miss home! I miss the state fair. I miss my college buddies from Concordia in St. Paul... Nevada just isn't home! Never had the chance to go to the renaissance festival...I'm glad that you and your family had a wonderful time. It's a beautiful day, so I see on the Star Trib website...and...the Vikes won!

Frankly...although I feel for families who miss their loved ones while they're gone...there wasn't any soldier in this war that was "forced" to enlist, you know? Every man and woman in the armed forces is in the military by choice. So...all I have to say is "Thank you!" to our troops and their families! And... Because they're fighting for our freedom, YOU can say anything you want, Janders.<img src="../images/smiles/smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN

dharma...well...first, I can't figure out how to make pictures work. I had a pretty fun picture of our fair former governor, Jesse Ventura that I would have liked to post for laughs. Second...the pciture you have in your head of me is probably lots better than what's reality. Some things are best left to the imagination.

I hope Marcie Helen is reading this, as we recently had a bitter dispute about the needs of gifted young people, since as a teacher she didnt feel it was her responsibility to ensure that they have challenging work to do. (thread title was "good old fashioned american rudeness") Okay...well...here's a lit

Hmmm...I'm 24, have been dating my boyfriend for a year and a half, and am a virgin, and will remain one until we marry. I'm not trying to be "holier than thou," this is just a choice I made a long time ago, and he made a long time ago, and we're sticking with it. We think its a big deal. I guess, other than my religious stance, that if I was intimate with someone that way, and the relationship didn't work out, I would completely beat myself up even

Hmmm...let's just say that Ryan doesn't mind the kitchen being dirty. When he cooks, he'll throw the wrappers from the packages of hamburger or sandwich bags from lunch in the sink instead of the garbage where they belong, and then continue using the sink. It makes no sense to me to throw that stuff in the sink when the garbage is 1.5 feet below the sink. He also doesn't clean up the splatters on the stove or in the microwave, or the clumps of food t

Wow...I'm replying to an article that hasn't been touched for a while. I guess I just sort of stumbled in and I have something to say. Hope you don't mind. The Passion...I haven't seen it since March, but....when I think back on it, I guess the part that really hit home for me were Jesus' relationship with His mom. Can you imagine knowing your son is the Son of God, yet still having to relate to Him on a human level and take care of his nee

From the teacher: As I'm sure you all know...I'm a new teacher, first year ever, etc., etc. I moved 1500 miles away from my family with $300 in my pocket and hopes that I'd get at least part of my sign on bonus (turns out I did get half of it: $1000, but then you need to find an apartment, buy lots of things for your classroom, eat, etc.) I think its silly about the gym shoes, you know? I don't have kids wearing high heels to class, and if

dharma~ Your family's house is so cute! Ryan and I have talked about buying a house here in Vegas (if he'll hurry and get his tush in gear and ask me to marry him). If you buy a house, it appreciates in value so fast, that if you re-sell it, even in just a few years, you've made a fortune. The teacher next door to me bought a house with her husband a few years ago for $300,000 and now the estimated value is $700,000. You just moved from th

*laughs*...that is cute. Daddy's girl? Hmmmm...just let her wait would be my idea (as a non-parent of course). Maybe just ignore the behavior...she'll figure out that she can't have your attention and wait for Dad at the door, too? I have no idea.

Hmmmmm...and...my standard for the rightness and wrongness of homosexuality comes from the Bible. The old testment, as well as the new testament blatantly say that homosexuality is wrong. But scriptures also say that lots of other things are wrong and just as "bad." I take the Bible literally. If God is omniscent and omnipresent (and He is!), He knows how stupid humans are, and how we try to take apart His word and take it out of context an
