After reading Shmoopy's post entitled "Citizen Appreciation" https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboard.asp?BID=WC&id=160466, I am reminded of a key factor which I seem to have forgotten, and in doing so, hastily made a "Bad Move" . You see, I had forgotten that this site exists as a means primarily to advertise and distribute skins that are for STARDOCK products. Wallpapers, are just a little perk that seems

Unless my theory is all wrong, the utility to wipe the hard drive is windows based, and wont wipe out windows. Isn't just removing the partition good enough?
So, Jafo.. are you saying that if comment is not received by the author, that the submission is really really bad?
I can understand the frustrations. I have submitted several wallpapers, none of which have been accepted. You cant tell me it's due to them being "Brycey", because I see several new ones on here that are. The biggest thing that upsets me is that you don't even offer the name of the moderator that blackballed the work. Do you guys use a voting system of sorts between you to moderate the wallpapers? I think that would be a good plan because the tastes of the one, may not be reflective of the taste
At work, I have a P4-1.7Ghz w/512 Ram. At home, I am still using a P3-800 (overclocked of course ) and frankly, I don't notice an astounding difference. Not enough to really make me want to upgrade yet. My P3 runs the business apps just fine, and so far, all my games play great as well. I may however upgrade soon just so I can use a state of the art video card which would require a different AGP slot... time
Ooops.. didn't see this thread till after I posted the same thing... Sorry all..
Not that anyone really cares, but I just bought a 19" monitor, and finally I can enjoy all those fine 1280 x 1024 desktopX themes!! Yippie
Dark Mist - It's a pop up ad for Galactic Civilizations
I have not had problems with games, but I do have some programs that HATE windowblinds (Crystal Reports for one) But I found that if you exclude certain apps from being skinned you can get around the problems. The benefits of WB outweigh the problems.
If I may butt-in here... why should one have to rely on another program to stop pop-ups. I agree with Phy.. pop ups are very annoying. Even though this site is affiliated (or ran) by Stardock, it is a real turn off to have pop up adds sprouting. The pop up doesn't happen if you are logged in, but if you empty your cookies and temp inet files, the next time you come on here the pop up will nail ya...
The ALL-TIME (in my opinion) most outlandishly funny stories have got to be here.. http://www.thenetworkadministrator.com
I also had that problem and emailed stardock support. Here is what they said: ------------------------------------------------------ Please make sure that you are running the most recent version, which is located at: http://storage.stardock.com/files/stardockcentralrc1.exe Then, close and reopen it to run the auto-update feature to make sure that it is the most current version. Next, go to Tools>edit Stardock.net account Make sure that the password field
Every time I have tried SDC, it will not log me in and let me update anything...
Heres another OE link thats nice http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/problems/index.htm
Here's another OE issue.. If you happen to belong to any yahoo groups or anything which you get ALOT of email, you will want to setup rules which send mail to other than your inbox. I have seen OE crash 2 times because the inbox reached in excess of 1.5GB in size. Trying to recover that could take months!!
link to explorer.exe with this in the arguments box ::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} (at least that is what mine has)
Having recently just begun to use bryce, I find myself fumbling, aimlessly sniveling and having convulsive fits from even trying to understand a meager portion of whats being said here... but hey, don't we all start somewhere. But seriously, I agree that the evil is not in using bryce, but rather not taking the time to be original and willing to learn it if you are going to use it. GA, a downloadable
Perhaps I missed an answer to this in another thread.. Why doesn't the uninstall function of DesktopX work. It will never find the INSTALL.LOG file. Now call me strange, but I really don't kindle to the idea of manually deleting programs, lest the evil blue screen of death rear its ugly fangs upon me , and when i see a new version of a fine OD component, I must have it (shameless plug <img src="http://im
Just curious,.. What software do you use to create your artwork? Primarily, wallpaper graphics, but I am interested in what else too
A stoooopid question here... The rating system here... Who rates the skins?
Might I also add, that Alt-PrtScreen will capture just an open window. That comes in useful at times too.
But... Green...aren't YOU, one of the masters.. your work is great!!!
Yeah.. I agree with you. An in-depth tutorial would be helpful. The newsgroup doesn't seem to be very responsive sometimes.
40 IT Manager - Just getting into the skinning thing. After I finish pulling my hair out (whats left of it) from learning things on PSP and such.
I am just beginning to get into DX. From what I have found, no matter what theme that I try, I always revert back to my start menu. Essentialy, because it would be next to impossible to custom skin someone elses entire start menu into a theme. Therefore, I look for the ever elusive "Start Button", name it what you will.. On the Desktop.. as little as possible with the basics as stated earlier by DavidMandle. I prefer a uncluttered look that is clean, crisp and not overwhelming with gadgetry. Gef
