This sounds very familiar to the current method used by Adobe, where you use the "Transfer Activation" function to allow the installation on a new machine. (Note - Adobe allows installation on one main machine and on a second machine such as a notebook where the person licensed is the primary user). Coming late on this one. For my part, the only thing I would add to Vista's customization abilities (at least up to build 5744) would be the ability to use a gradient in the frame (reference Windows 2000 ability to use two colors in the titlebar). I did see a reasonable percentage (20% - 30%) of users utilizing this feature. I really like the fact that you can set the icons to different sizes in explorer, and - IMO - the design and dynamic updating is just fantastic. M

I agree that for a company which has been involved in a small yet successful market, the loss of revenue resulting from a large company incorporating the technologies/ideas of the smaller business is a typical and problematic issue in the world. I do however believe that the user would not suffer if the developers (in this case 'gadget' developers) simply develop their product and sell them on either the Microsoft gadget site, or on another site that allows third party sales. With WindowBlinds unloaded: Right-click the desktop > Properties > Themes tab > select 'Windows XP' from the Theme drop-down list > click 'Apply' button. That should do it. Note - if for some reason it does not apply the XP theme, reboot the computer to see if the theme service loads the default XP theme on reboot.
