The "Only group when Ctrl is held down" option solved unintended grouping beautifully for me. But I can understand how it might lead to forgetting to use Groupy. Your timed delay idea would be another great option—as long as they make it optional. Being able to choose from 0 to 3 seconds delay would be the ultimate.

Hello. New OD subscriber here. Only using Groupy at the moment. A few questions before installing/trying DeskScapes 10 beta. All I want to do for now is: Add two wallpapers I already have downloaded (one suited for daytime and one for night). Alternate between the two wallpapers on a set schedule. Can DeskScapes handle these simple requirements? I know it has a lot of fancy features and a library of wallpapers, but I want to ease my way int

Hello. I was an Object Desktop subscriber and Windows customization fan back in the Windows 7/XP days. I've been away from Stardock products for a decade, but just purchased a new Object Desktop subscription a couple days ago. What caused me to drift away from using Stardock products: IT career got busy and took up most of my spare time. I've always been excited by/focused on new technologies, which for me included new Windows 10 releases, Ins

SoundPackager sounds [e digicons]B)[/e] like a nice idea so I installed it today via Impulse, downloaded Zen sound package but and get an unhandled exception each time I try to apply it or any other sound package. Ticket with debug file has been submitted to Stardock support: SoundPackager Unhandled Exception SoundPackager has generated an error that the application did not handle. Please report this error to Stardock

This DriveScan update has been showing up in Impulse for many months, but Impulse fails (error retrieving data) every time I try to download and install it. Other updates download and install just fine. Please fix or remove this update!

It's quite amazing, in a negative sense, that this issue was reported in 2005 and I'm still having the same issue in 2009 with the latest WindowBlinds (6.4). I had to change the desktop color by going to "Change skin colours" > "Edit Colours", select "Show me the skin defined system colours" from the dropdown list, find "Desktop Background" and change the desktop color from there. Is there still no option in WindowBlinds to override or ignore the skin's Desktop Ba

In SkinStudio 6.4 (on XP Pro SP3) I don't see any "Misc" or "Miscellaneous". da_zman, your title bars are skinned? I'd be quite happy with that. My Office 2007 title bars (Outlook Word, etc.) are totally unaffected by WB skins. And none of the Office apps have any per-application exceptions... Same thing for Chrome for that matter, but I didn't expect Google Chrome to skin.

Using several different skins with WB 6.3 build 69, I notice that MS Office 2007 is not affected no matter what skin is used. Any tips for getting skins to work with Office 2007? BTW, I tried a forum search using the term 'Office 2007' (without quotes) and it returns 0 results. That's strange considering I also searched on 'Office' and saw one post containing 'Office 2007's' (possessive noun) which

Under My Account on Images tab I can't upload an avatar or any file because the upload buttons don't repond when I click them. I initially saw cookies being blocked, but I've since set IE7 to trust and allow all cookies on stardock.com and stardock.net. I'm also using IE7 Pro, but his blocking functions are all turned off. Any ideas? [e digicons]:S[/e]

Thanks the helpful suggestions. Fuzzy Logic, I read a little about ViStart over at the VTP site. I'm also NOT a fan of Vista Start menu. Some aspects of the look are okay but not the feel/usability. I'm also not fond of "faux" UI elements added soley for realistic appearance. So I ended up switching to skins that don't have a fake search tool, like Arrow and Diamond. Cavan1, I tried toggling the use rep

Thanks Night Train. I'm up and running with Vista Aero style on XP now. Decided to go with full Object Desktop (standard) as a gift to myself. You're correct, deviantArt is definitely the place to go for Aero themes. I ended up with Aero Ultimate RC3.1 by fediaFedia which is apparently the most realistic, although some of the interface elements are non-functional eye-candy (by design). For example, the Start menu search tool doesn't work and the user account picture has no

The number of software components, tools, skins, icons, etc. for customizing Windows is overwhelming. That can be a good thing (lots of choices) or a bad thing if you're busy and don't have time to sift through it all... That said, would someone kindly to tell me the quickest path to a realistic Vista Aero look on Windows XP? Actually I'm a former Object Desktop user who got out of the whole customization thing a few years ago--mostly due to the time thin

If Microsoft's Vista theme customization effort is anything remotely like Windows Plus Pack (the only time I’ve truly felt ripped-off by Microsoft) or the handful of pitiful themes and “fun packs” they offer for free download, I’d say Stardock has nothing to worry about. In fact, as others have said, the tantalizing yet unfulfilled potential of Vista’s GUI would probably generate even more business for Stardock. However, just a smattering of quality, easily managed GUI customizations co

What is the deal with KLP Plug-Ins? The KLP home page tells you zilch about plug-ins. And forget about trying them out for yourself. You have to buy KLP first to get even a peek. A post in this forum asking about the plug-in SDK has been completely ignored by Stardock. Is this a stalled development project or just extreme neglect on the marketing/support side? Eye candy seems to get 95% of the attention around here. Maybe there's a wealth of in

The SDC Free Stuff tab only shows ObjDock 1.05. For some reason ObjDock 1.1 does not show up as available. The question is about ObjDock (freeware version) NOT ObjDock +. Thank you to all who provide free help on this site.

Thanks for these helpful and well-done articles. How can I save an article locally for future reference (without having to navigate back to this page). I tried saving an article as HTML, but this screws up some of the page formatting and saves all the comments too.
